So much for the claim that an artificial track surface produces even results time wise. The times on the Cushion Track were slow Thursday compared to the week before, but last night, Friday, they were positively crawling. When the opening race at 7F was run in 127.70 at first thought that there had been a timer malfunction, but later races were equally slow. True, the race was for bottom level distaffers, but 127.70? Have not seen a 7F race that slow in SoCal since it went on a dirt track labeled slow or even heavy. Am now viewing HOL with a wary eye this weekend. Have to wonder just what the heck has happened? Timer malfunction, unusual track maintenance, or? For those that make figures computing numbers for these races could be tough, and for 'cappers viewing these runners when they race back off of these very slow times will add to the puzzle.

I don't know what is happening over there. My numbers show Hollywood running about a second slow on Cushion sprints and routes this whole week as well.

Up until the 28th (exception of the first two weeks), sprints were running pretty even to a bit fast and routes were generally faster than par.

Maybe a climate issue?
