Hope this wasn't posted anywhere where I didn't see it

NYRA has hired Rodnell Workman who senior marketing manager for the NY Giants from 2002 to 2009. NYRA never has had a Chief Marketing manager position before so I see this as great move by NYRA  . Thoughts?

I'll bet Mr.Workman wishes he had a pick-5 wager with a 10% takeout to market.

Andy Cuomo refers to NYRA as "a long-troubled agency.” If that be the case, rest assured as THIS current crew in place seems the most apt of them all.

If there was anytime apropos of an emoticon, it's now.

:lol:OK, I'll bite. What causes your lack of faith at such an early juncture? Or are you posting just to post? Ala Detective Goren.

Don't be sill. You know I lack depth in these trivial matters but I've had enough business experience to look across a table and see a crew that looks likely to be deer caught in headlights in crunch situations and I trust 'crunch' is about to happen.

Best of luck to 'em.

Surely someone with your obvious business expertise and extensive experience has a more efficient way to spend your time than to attempt to analyze the body language of a group of people (who you couldn't pick out of a lineup) in a still photograph.

The NYRA criticism gets more and more ridiculous by the day.

Next up will be an analysis of courtroom-like drawings and the future of the Travers Stakes. Stay-tuned.

Older, more battle scarred. Hope I'm wrong, and I'm not putting much stock in a first impression from a still photo. But my gut instinct mirrored Mack's--they look light for the shark pit they're about to be thrown into.

You hope you aren't wrong by putting much stock in a still photo? Ya think?

How much older should the people be?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised by anything I read anymore, but even the harshest NYRA critic has to realize just how silly this is.

I would have had more confidence if they all wore purple shirts. No, scratch that, red power ties. Wait wait, pink shirts.

Seriously, judging a board by what they look like is stupid. Look at Mark Zuckerberg, judging by appearance I wouldn't hire that guy to answer my phone.

While it's impressive McClain has an MBA from Hahvahd, would it hurt to start head hunting for a chap who looks decent in a 44 long and has a last name that involves a precious metal?

Looks and degrees are BS.
What has he done in the real world?
Nothing else matters.

No interest, really in looking it up, but has he ever done anything that qualifies him?

“It seems the principal focus has got to be on the track getting a new generation of fans,” Aurelio was quoted as saying. “That should be the major priority of any marketing campaign. The sport is dying. Every time you look at the obituary page you’re losing a racing fan.”

Comment from Richard Aurelio, an oversight board member.
