Nothing better than starting off with a ****up.

**********************************

WO R1:

:2:, Carolina Moon: nice effort last out

:5:, Here Comes Love: Casse/Husbands getting significantly more play than the 2, even though her race last out was not as good as that one's

:1:, It's Gail: Tiller/Contreras 2nd time out, stretching out today. Guess they figure there's a speed bias. Won nicely but got a very nice setup. Maybe she wins but why is she 4/5?

R2:

:2:, Medidocihospisurg: everything that can go wrong for this one already has. Maybe he won't beat the chalk but he should be at least 2nd.

:3:, Pefect Afleet: nice win with a nice setup last out. Will have to do more on his own running today.

Nice ride by Pizzaro. He never shut off the rail on Contreras. The 1 must run 5 or so lengths less than the 5. Contreras must be on his meds again: he's getting real comfortable riding the inside.

2nd race @ churchill looks pretty weak

2 - is getting money, but I'm not crazy about this horse. He's "logical" that's about it.

1 has a puncher's chance to add to multi race

came within a photo of a CRUSH. I played the 4 1st and 2nd, so I had the ex/tri/super but I had them for more and they were paying quite a bit more with the 4 on top. (Also didn't help that the chalk 6 photoed out the 2 for 3rd.) McAleney blew this one for me. The 4 is running comfortably INSIDE of the 6 on the backstretch. He goes out of his way to take her back and then put her outside of the 6. He's then wider on the turn. That was the difference in the photo.

quite a bit of speed in here and they're going 7F, which most the speed types can't get. Which means that the race might end up being idiot proofed for Contreras:

:3:, Hitec Dave: yet another premature move on this one by Contreras last out. Shouldn't be able to sniff the pace today. Just might get a perfect setup.

:1:, Soccor Tease: showed some very nice late kick last time. Question as to whether it will carry an extra furlong. Should be the one to beat.

:3:, Malibu Skyline: like this one the best of the pace setters. Should sit just behind the 8 early and take it away from there.

Would be nice if I actually had an opinion today.

WO R6:

:4:, Eagle Hall: some trouble last race but that's not why I like her. Her maiden win last year was better than anything else in the race has run. She's acting up in the paddock and there's the concern that the turf is playing to speed. See what happens.

:5:, English Class: some nice turf works and they a hiccup with Contreras last time. But Luis is on his meds today, so we don't need to worry.

:1:/:1a:, Attfield Entry: Roger not exactly firing bullets so far this year. But can never be excluded.

:3:, Bubbles to the Top: some nice turf races.

Meunuco

Luis couldn't resist getting out there and winging it with Ramsammy and Skye. Probably wins or is easily 2nd if he just sits behind these horses that had no shot to win the race. Anyway, not much in the way of payout here. Switched the 3 for the 2 late but I still had a small super (used these two for 4th only.)

not much value here. was initially interested in the 7, She's PIcky, on the front end, but I think she ran her race last time; and it's doubtful she gets away from the 3 early.

:2:, Joharmony: some nice back turf form. Should appreciate 9F.

:9:, Artemus Kitten: not much but not that much in here. Juicer special.

:3:, Karlovy Vary: never thought much of this one. But she should fall into a perfect inside trip.

:6:, Sassy's Dream: another that will appreciate 9F

I'm not impressed by Excaper, the 4:5 chalk. Need to see a race where he doesn't get the benefit of the setup. 1st time out this year and he figures to get some pressure early from 4, Hammer's Terror. Blinkers off, however, might have this one rating. See how it plays out.
The 4 has a nice race 2 back @ KEE; but I'm not exactly a Stidham fan and he had no excuse last out.

:1:, Jomelo: got crushed by the 6 last year going 8F on the turf. But he has a nice race a few weeks ago and Da Silva should be able to work out a nice inside stalking trip.

use the 1 with the 4 and 6.

Don't know what to do with Casse/Contreras. Going to let them beat me.

I can't take 3:1 (or less, probably) on the 10, Unbridled Command. Watched his last race and was expecting to see he got a worse trip than the winner; but he didn't. Maybe he's fitter today but going to try to beat him.

:2:, Headingtothecity: speed from the inside and Dominguez will take advantage of it. Never been the distance and just heard that Eric Donovan likes this one. :bang::bang: Good luck with that. Not interested unless > 10:1.

:5:, Cientifico: premature move in an impressive win @ AQU. Then nothing last out. Win bet if > 15:1

The 1A was loose today and she'd wired last time out. But she did it on a speed biased track. I gambled that she wasn't as good as her last race; and lost. Nothing pressed her early and the 4 was forced to and couldn't get her.

:2:, Rocky F: 1st out since the fall; some nice turf races last year. Wins if ready.

:1:, Deciphering Dreams: Juicer and, suddenly, NY's new Mr. Premature. Hopefully, Castellano gives this one a chance by not rushing too much early.

:5:, Ampersand: in good form but needs some action up front. Doubt he gets the collapse he needs to win it.

5 got the duel, with the 7 pressing the 2 throughout, and the premature move by the 8 and still couldn't get by that one. The 1 was bottled up inside but couldn't run with the top two when clear.

Long day ahead. If I don't start focusing, I'm going to get CRUSHED.:bang:

great race. Essence Hit Man is a very fast horse and probably won't be outrun early here. But there are other pace types in here and it's doubtful he wires -- unless the course is playing for speed. Conditional win @ 15:1

:4:, Artic Fern: nice odds and I like the fact that he was chasing a loose horse that didn't come back going 7F last out. Should fall into a perfect stalking trip. Just a question of whether he's good enough.

:9:, Gypsy Ring: quite a few good efforts sprinting on the turf; will get a similar stalking trip and will be hard to beat.

:10:, Surfrider: won in hand last out but stepping up here. Shippers don't typically do well on this course/distance -- just ask the 1. Hard to predict what Dominguez will do with this one. Clearly, if he tries to run with the pace he's getting nada.

We'll get an idea of how the course is playing, hopefully, after this one.

:2:, Riding the River: Kabel screwed up the ride on Artic Fern and I don't have much confidence in his ability. However, I've been waiting for this horse to get a fair course and it appears today is the day. Some of these might be too good for him, however, he would've beaten the probable chalk in the race, Havelock (now scrated) with a clean trip last year. :6:, Musketier: tough not to go with this on with Dominguez getting the leg up. Arguably the best 12F horse in the race and does his best running with patient rides.

:3:, SImmard: the other proven 12F horse in the race. Will be forwardly placed. Nakatani needs to not press Big Red Mike, who is sure to fold on his own.

terrible ride by Nakatani, going after a horse that only wins on speed biased courses. Guess there is a male jock that can't outgame Dominguez in a photo finish: Nakatani.

:1:, Splendiferous: some nice races last year. Clearly, he's not the same horse. But there's quite a bit of speed in here and he should be able to get a perfect inside trip. Bridgmohan needs to sit chilling until they enter.

:7:, Golden Ridge: Casse/Mr. Premature combo. I think this one will probably appreciate the distance more than any of the others. Has raced well in open company @ GP and KEE. I don't think he's a stickout, however. And given the poor jock, he's a distinct underlay @ 4:1 with 22 min to post.

:5:, Classic Bryce: Mr Premature off, Kabel up. So, this guy, like me, can't get a break. Only sustained off the pace move other than the winner last out; and the winner had a clear inside run and this one was closer to the pace and moved sooner. A real shot at long odds. Just needs a patient ride.

:4:, Strait of Dover: Demolished a field (include the 5) 1st time routing last out. Could be anything. Stein opts for him over Wilcox.

:10:, Dixie Strike: Better of the 2 fillies in race. Doubt she can win this but she can definitely hit the board.
