Didn't even know it but this great Cuban boxer has passed away.
He died on June 11 at age 60 of a heart attack.

3 time Olympic gold medalist (Munich-Montreal-Moscow) and won 301 of 321 fights.
The big one vs. Ali never happened though.

What a fighter

A class act in and out of the ring.

When he was offered millions to defect to the United States and turn pro, he replied:

"What is money compared to the love of 8 million Cubans?"

I also missed that news. What a giant he was, a true boxing legend.

Shame he never turned pro.
He really would have been the icing on the cake for the heavyweight division.
Just think of all those guys.....man.......

Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Shavers, Foster, and plenty more fighters who could be top of the class in the past few decades.
A vintage era.......

I can still remember the video ABC did for him in the Olympics to Blood Sweat and Tears' "what goes up...must come down", and showed him flooring his opponents...he was a hitter
