Yawanna Twist euthanized

The DRF is reporting on their twitter feed that Yawanna Twist was euthanized after injuring a hind leg while waking up from routine ankle surgery.. :(

That is so sad. :( The worst part of this sport IMO. To many good animals that are gone too soon.

Sad... shades of Ruffian in this tragic event. You think they have a better way to handle horses waking up from surgery then to just allow them to thrash about. I mean air bags... slings and a recovery pool... somethin'. :(
