--I've noticed John Campbell's name has been missing from the Big M's past performance programs lately. Can someone tell me why he's been absent? I know in the last year or so, he broke his arm in an accident at the Big M racetrack. Is this injury still bothering him, so as to keep him out of action? Or has he been slapped with a driving suspension that I don't know about? I'm just curious.

--J.C. is one super harness driver in my book. I've noticed he sure has a knack for winning the close finishes, when he's driving a closer. Tough to get a good price on many of the horses he drives, if the horse looks half-decent on the form. Then again, that's the same story at practically every harness oval...i.e. the leading driver or two, are consistently overbet. Doesn't happen every race that they're overbet, so you have to be patient. Then again, we must remember to consider the horse first, then the other handicapping factors, including the ability of the driver.

Thanks,

Norm,

--Thanks for the info. I think with all the big money races J.C. has won in the past, that he can afford to take some time off. Then again, I wonder if he applied for workmen's compensation? (that's if he's eligible).

He actually came back to drive and was awful.. He had no strength in one of his arms, which makes it almost impossible to be on your harness game. I would imagine retirement isn't are off for him.. And Lachance as well.

C'mon Scott! What makes you think LaChance is anywhere near readt for retirement???? He had a great year in 2003 and I expect this year will be another. I consider him and Campbell to be 2 of the best 'cappers in the game. What will REALLY help LaChance is if he doesn't feel obligated to drive Patrick's claimers. From what I've seen so far this meet Patrick is driving more, both his own and for other people.

Lachance looks as good now as he ever has, even better, and Campbell, has been slowing down in his drives the last few years as well.It wouldnt be any surprise if JC just became a summer stakes specialist if you will.
Btw SQ,ive read you posts at other harness group off and on over the last few years(when i havent withdrawn because the comment got too rediculus by 2 or 3 people, anyway ,heres my question
Over the years, youve never had anything good to say about anyone or anything connected to the sport, so....why do you even follow it, or do you even???
Just curious

Norm.. I sure do have lots good to say about harness drivers.. Miller is the best in the world.. Pierce is the most underrated.. Tetrick is the next young superstar..

Its tough when you have morons telling you Ledford is better than Miller.. those are just stupid people, and they must be treated that way
