IHA gets the 11 hole where only Conquistador Cielo and Sarava have won the Belmont from that 11 post. Hopefully he can make it 3 winners.

I wonder how many horses have started from the 11 hole and how many of them were actual contenders?

No one had won the Derby form 19....not the least bit concerned with posts in this one.

All in all, a great card both Fri and Sat.....3 mile DD....cool!

With Paynter drawing :9:, and the way the Belmont is run, I'll Have Another will be 5 wide entering the 1st turn and wide throughout. At least he's in the clear, and likes to be outside.

:2: Unstoppable U is another speed. He will be asked some from the gate to avoid trouble. This still probably will not quicken the pace too much as they have 12 furlongs to go, and the first turn seems provide a chance to slow the pace down.

:3: Union Rags will have to avoid "finding trouble" once again. Doubt John Velazquez wants to be pinned inside for two and a half minutes either.

My Adonis has good early speed too - makes it a little tougher on Paynter. As far as IHA being 5 wide into the turn, hard to say, he's pretty quick so Gutierrez may have some options.

I'm sure that O'neill is happier with him being outside rather than close to the rail.

Only horse that comes to mind is Pleasant Colony in 1981.
