View Full Version : Racetracker Goes Crazy At Slots

I am retired, but I have a part time job. so I only go to the track on weekends. I do hit the road and go to as many tracks as I can when I'm not working. I do pretty well and have great money management skills and restraint. Maybe twice a year I play the slots. When I do play everything I value in horseracing is down the drain. When I'm losing at the track, I quit, no problem. When I get a big hit, I either quit or come way down in my wagering. However, when it comes to slots I have little restraint. If I win a $100 or more in the begining I quit. But, if I'm losing I keep playing till I lose my ass. I am going to quit slots. This will not be a problem because horseracing is my passion. I am not asking for help or advise. I just wonder if this has happened to anyone else.

I had a choice to make myself. Poker or horses. I chose horses for the same reason, and know I have the correct decision.

I don't play the slots but about 5 years ago I was standing by a buddy at the casino in downtown New Orleans who was playing the $1 slots. He hits a jackpot; the lights and horn come on so he waits for an attendant. While waiting he puts a dollar in the machine next to him and hits another jackpot. Go figure!!
