Beautiful woman, but is this really Audrey singing?

Apparently the answer is yes. The song is from the movie Sabrina. Her songs in My Fair Lady were dubbed by Marni Nixon. Hepburn was a world class beauty with a so-so singing voice. She does a decent job on the post video, but other have in my opinion done better with "rose" including a rather famous recording by Édith Piaf.

Audrey Hepburn could sing.
But as it turned out the Director of My Fair Lady had her voice dubbed over in many songs. This probably cost Hepburn an Academy Award.

From wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audrey_Hepburn
A dubber was required because Eliza Doolittle's songs were not transposed down to accommodate Hepburn's "low-mezzo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mezzo-soprano) voice" (as Nixon referred to it).[68] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audrey_Hepburn#cite_note-myfairladydub-67) Upset, when first informed, she walked out. She returned the next day and apologized to everybody for her "wicked behavior".[68] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audrey_Hepburn#cite_note-myfairladydub-67) Although Hepburn had lip synced (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lip_sync) to her recorded tracks during filming, Nixon looped (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loop_(music)) her vocals in post-production and was given multiple attempts to match Hepburn's lip movements precisely.[68] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audrey_Hepburn#cite_note-myfairladydub-67) Overall, about 90% of her singing was dubbed despite being promised that most of her vocals would be used.[68] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audrey_Hepburn#cite_note-myfairladydub-67) Hepburn's voice remains in one line in "I Could Have Danced All Night", in the first verse of "Just You Wait", and in the entirety of its reprise in addition to sing-talking in parts of "The Rain in Spain" in the finished film.[68] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audrey_Hepburn#cite_note-myfairladydub-67) When asked about the dubbing of an actress with such distinctive vocal tones, Hepburn frowned and said, "You could tell, couldn't you? And there was Rex (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rex_Harrison), recording all his songs as he acted ... next time —" She bit her lip to prevent her saying more.[56] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audrey_Hepburn#cite_note-archer-55) She later admitted that she would have never have accepted the role knowing that Warner intended to have nearly all of her singing dubbed.[68] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audrey_Hepburn#cite_note-myfairladydub-67) The controversy reached its height when, despite the film's accumulation of eight out of a possible twelve awards at the 37th Academy Awards (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/37th_Academy_Awards), Hepburn was left nomination-less in the Best Actress category.

she didn't have to sing. She was one fine definition of beauty.

Loved her in My Fair Lady.

I could have sworn I read that Julie Andrews did the over dub? hmmmmm

Bring it down to the boys at the lab and have 'em do a full audio forensics run on it.

GET REAL. Of course it's EP, ya nin. nie. :p

Park your ears on a bit of Madeleine Peyroux sometime. It's from my, After dinner with a nice Cab & hash, while in a snappy conversation, collection.

Melody's story is one of the most incredible I've ever read.Nearly killed by a hit and run driver at 19, she ultimately used music to heal herself.

I'm not crazy about Miss Peyroux. Her greatest attribute is considered to be a perfectly Holiday-like voice. That's not nearly enough, unless she's Rich Little.

I'd love to be able to post exactly like Bigmack or Derek, but would that be a worthy talent per se ?

The boys at the lab have other priorities right now.
