Best closer in the Belmont. I think he wins if ridden correctly. But does Desormeaux (who I'm assuming will ride) have the patience?

Castellano has the mount from what I read. This is getting better and better.

Kind of missed the news during Preakness day, huh?

I don't like the fact Dullahan will give I'll Have Another a massive head start into a likely slow pace.

Agree.

With Paynter it should be fast enough that Dullahan can't bunch up during the natural stride, but I don't expect them going to fast.

What's Dullahan's record in races with a moderate/slow pace?

Your picks.

1st...you don't KNOW WHO the jock is :faint:

2nd..you don't know THAT P.A. posts his picks PUBLICALLY the morning of the BIG race...

3rd...his record is pretty damn GOOD over the last several years as well...which you DON'T know....

You really shouldn't be typing...cause you're REMOVING all doubt...

and You probably don't know WHAT that means as well...

Dullahan needs pace help for his best race which he is unlikely to get in the Belmont. I also do not think he is suited to Big Sandy.

I agree. This would be such a popular win in Iowa given the ownership, but I don't see it based on the pace. I'm likely to side with horses closer to the front.

D seems to be one of the rare good closers who close regardless of the pace.

Just may not be as good as the favorite here.

How about a little understanding, eh?

No one is perfect.

Be a little more supportive.

He looked wrong right away. Either he didn't like the dirt in his face or he has an issue.

What's up with Castellano? First Grace Hall goes down in flames, then Doubles Partner, then Gemologist, now Dullhan. Had him too far back. I'm not a real believe in the synthetic-dirt argument, but after seeing this race, there might be something to it. Damn!

Animal Kingdom is the only one off the top of my head that was a "synthetic" horse that first out of the gate won a Grade 1 on dirt. You could also argue they hadn't figured out that horse's preferred surface until the derby.

I Want Revenge? Won the Gotham doesn't count.
Animal Kingdom? I'll grant this one. The exception.

Wtf? She lost by a nose, and look what was behind her. You have to win every race to count?
Tough crowd.

Any horse that puts in a good performance in a G1 on dirt counts as a top quality dirt horse.

Nonsense!
Before the Gotham, it was synth to dirt.
2nd by a neck in the BC Calssics is not good for synth to dirt?
2nd in the Derby is no good for synth to dirt?

3 of those were in churchill which is friendlier to the switch then other tracks.
