I remember receiving a nice brochure like that in the mail about 15 yrs ago. I bought the system for $75. About a week later I got an envelope in the mail from the company and I thought I had forgotten to sign my check or something. No! It was the entire system, on an index card brightly colored. After all, for $75 they gave me a pretty one. The next day I lost over a hundred trying to make it work. It was a good lesson and I have not fell for many more since. They still do have me on their suckers list to this very day.

It sounds like the touter hasn't been to a racetrack since the inception of Cash/Sell windows, which was like, what, 30 years ago? But I'm sure his system is cutting edge.

Sounds Great, how much is it? I never got a email spam but in the mail the best was the Shefield Method. It came with a audio tape. Hi my name is Don and I met this old timer at the track and he gave me winner after winner.......

Yeah, once you make one purchase, you're on the list for life.

All I wanted was one Cialis...

I am on the list too although I never bought a system ever. My best guess is that Horseplayer magazine sold them my name.

I last system I bought through the mail was many years ago...before full-card simulcasting made its arrival on the scene.

A gentleman had apparently discovered a system which recorded 42% winners at average odds of 4-1...and half the races on the card were playable!

This man had tested the system with REAL money at every track in the country...and the system's results were the same everywhere he went.

I remember thinking, as I was reading the brochure...how did this man try the system out at every track in the country, when there was no full-card simulcasting available to us yet?

But by the end of the brochure I had gotten my answer, and my doubts were put to rest...

The man had been a pilot for a major airline for many years...

So how did you do with that fantastic system? If those stats are accurate, you must started making profits of 100% or higher!

Are there systems/software that make big bucks? Yes. Are they available to the public? No. That's because if there is a system/software that made big bucks a) you wouldn't need to sell it b) it would crush your odds.

That's what I always say. I see these sheets, pamplets, etc saying, "You can't lose, big profits, simple and easy system." Why sell it? I think we all have systems or methods we use and feel comfortable with but if we locked into some miracle that made big bucks, we'd never say a word to anyone else and kill our profits. ;)

it reminds me of the tout sheets when i'm walking into the track....the best ones are the kids at saratoga....so and so had 8 out of 9 winners yesterday. of course, they pick 3 or 4 horses in each race and count a winner as any one of the choices...if the third choice wins that counts as a winner......how many people bet to put 3 horses on top each race? gee, if i could have over 5 winners a day.....why would i bother selling a selection sheet? its hilarious but people buy....they've been out there since citation was a yearling. i'm such an opinionated jack ass that i never bought any of it....its the best bet i ever made too....unless you're doing this with friends that are betting their money too......win or lose your own money with your own system.

I wound up on that list, too, and have gotten several such spam messages. There's also a Canadian cigar company, Bellhop Cigars, blasting to horseplayers. I get their crap and then a warning email about them from another source. Seems like they screwed some player somewhere along the way.

right on........but i have to commend the fact that most horseplayers are stubborn and think for themselves.....the general public is full of "sheeple". you can ask the opinion of 10 different horseplayers and get 9 different answers...not true with the general public non horse playing community.

I think you'd get 8 different answers.
