Queen of disco today, Godfather of Go-Go Chuck Brown yesterday.

Donna reigned during an era of music I loved. High energy, fast steps, and hip action. You had to have that beat. Unlike today's stab at dancing, one had to be FIT, or else, you didn't make it through the first minute.

Rest in peace, Donna. You gave great songs, and great times on a dance floor, particularly with "Last Dance" and "She Works Hard For Her Money".

Most of you were babies during the Disco era. Donna rocked, wherever she was, in a studio recording, or on stage, live.

Am I giving my age, yes. But, I've already done that. Who cares.;)

Grits, we used to stomp the dance floor to the words HOT STUFF, in time of course. Made your flares flap!

Got thrown of more than one club for that.

Used to be a DJ at a local bar had every one of her records (anyone remember records?) some of them those great big LP Disco records.

Maybe there'd be less obesity if disco was still around.

I liked her. Disco hit when I was still a teen. What a crazy period.

But I have to admit, I love her version of the song below

Even when she was in her prime she had a HUGE ass. Guess she wasn't dancing, huh?

I loved her music (doesn't get any better than "Try Me" and"McArthur Park Suite") but while Gloria Gaynor was paving the wave, all she had was "Love to love you baby". Her overall work surpassed Gaynor's but she was the Queen of Disco the way the Bee Gees were the Kings of Disco (after Saturday Night Fever). Gloria was the Queen and the Trammps were the kings. Rest in peace Jimmy Ellis, btw. These two this year and Teddy last year. So many memories............
