I'm still working to get everything as automated as possible, so the results sheet ONLY shows the following essential information:

Current Bankroll
Current (Successful) Parlay Length
Current Bankroll in Play

Remember that this is for Saturday. I hope to get a little bit of the data entered and scored for Sunday before going to bed. I plan to be completed caught up by the start of Wednesday.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Remember that Monday is a Canadian holiday, so selections can be submitted for that day. Assiniboia Downs will have a live racing card, beginning at 1:00 p.m. local time. With a contest requirement to play at least 20 AsD races, this gives you an opportunity to get in a few more. If you fail to get in that minimum, you will not be eligible for the contest prizes and PACS award points.

It seems that when incorporating Eddy1's records into mine, I neglected to carry over the number of AsD plays. Thus, up to this point, everyone with at least 1 AsD play from 05/18 and earlier had an incorrect AsD count. This problem as now been fixed, and will be reflected in the Standings Sheet that will be posted later tonight.

P.S. Subject standings sheet has been revised and re-posted with mudcat's correct totals. I erroneously credited him with a winner (back on 05/26 AsD race 1), with the saddlecloth number being a winner, but the listed name went with a losing selection. In our contest the name takes precedence.

... my total of $10.80 after three straight winning plays cannot possibly be correct.

Everyone starts out with a $5 bet. $3.80 x 2.5 = $9.50 after one win.
$3.70 x 4.5 = $16.65 plus .50 carryover = $17.15 after two wins
$2.80 x 8.5 = $23.80 plus .15 carryover = $23.95 after three wins
$23.95 looks like it should be my total going into the next parlay play.
Please correct.

No, but there are two issues.

The first one is that your listed selections were not in order of the expected race post time. Prx04 went off before Bel07. Knowing this now, I have switched the scoring order in my spreadsheet records. After the Prx04 race you would have been deemed to have a 3-race parley going into the Bel07 race. The Bel07 race was not a successful play. (By the way, even if you had listed in the correct race order, it would not have changed my decision regarding the scoring.)

The second but most critical error is that you indicated "Bank It" at the bottom of your post, and it was few lines lower than your group of race selections. This is the normal way to post when you want the bank to take place if ALL the listed race selections were successful. From the specific way you posted, one could not reasonable conclude that it was your intention to bank after the Prx04 race.

Others who would want to bank in the middle of multiple selections have (properly) done so with something like the following:

Prx04 --> xxxxxxxxxx

If successful so far, bank this and start a new parlay with

Bel07 --> xxxxxxxxx

Placing the bank it instruction at the bottom of all multiple selections implies that all the posted selections must be successful.

Hello Folks,

Sorry, but no updated Standings yet.

Broadband connections at Belmont Park on Saturday were absolutely horrible so I could not do any work between races.

I also tried to do some updates on the ride home while the wife did some of the driving, but the roads were so bumpy I was getting dizzy trying to work on my laptop.

I'll try to finish Friday's work sometime Sunday afternoon.

Hello tiger rose,

When races are SCHEDULED to go off close together, it would be a nightmare to verify and check which one ACTUALLY went off before the other. That is why we use the SCHEDULED post time (per equibase, etc.) to determine which race should be scored first. The only significance of the ACTUALLY off time is whether or not a player gets their wagers in on time.

Thus, there is no scoring error....you are getting your rightful score, which happens to be a little more than you expected.

I re-checked again, and you are RIGHT. :blush: My error was based on perception and not fact. Winnipeg seems so far away from Maryland where I live, but yet there is only 1 hr time difference.

Thanks for being honest and bringing this to my attention. :ThmbUp: The scoring correction (which will result in you having about $110 less than previously shown) will show up when I publish the next Standings Sheet in a few hours. Congratulations on your BIG score.

In the majority of cases the results will not change between the last published Standings Sheet and when they become official.

But just in case, you never want to let folks think they are winners only to have a mistake discovered and then have to go back and tell them otherwise. The brief waiting period allows for the reporting of such mistakes, especially by those who may not frequent this forum as often as someone like me. ;)
