Hopefully Serpa is alright and no significant injuries resulted from the incident.
All five of the horses involved in the incident came back to the barn uninjured, suffering only superficial cuts and bruises. The riders likewise escaped serious injury. Only one, Angel Serpa, was taken to the Monmouth Medical Center for precautionary X-rays of his right shoulder.

People wonder why I defend jockeys all the time at OTB's and elsewhere. Brave little guys and gals. Most of em do this because they love it. Lots of easier ways to make a living.

I will defer to their judgment.
If they screw up and lose a race, I can live with the fact they they live, too.

When I put my fat arse in a saddle, I will feel justified in calling them out.
Until then, it is NOT a game for everyone playing it.
