Poor Aunt Bea. I guess she'll have to make do with handyman Emmett Clark from now on.

Before Andy Griffith, he made appearances on shows like Alfred Hitchcock
And Gunsmoke. I still see him pop up on the reruns of those shows.
He gave us many laughs. Goodbye sir. RIP.

G-Lind's heirs must be battling over that crown he wore, as we speak.

Rather than start a new thread will mention it here, but Andy Griffith passed away today.

While we are at it, another celebrity death three weeks ago that most of us may have missed, Ann Rutherford.

Although Andy was associated primarily with Mayberry, here's a link to a classic comic monologue of his from the 1950's:

"What It Was, Was Football" (http://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/msn/andy_griffiths_stand_up_comedy_act_about_football_ still_hilarious_nearly_60_years_later_video/11143685)

I noted at your link above that Frank Cady, Hooterville's own Sam Drucker, the general store keeper on Petticoat Junction and Green Acres, has also passed away at the age of 96:
