Got the pp's for betfairHollywood Park thursday and friday.
They are not DRF Equibase of Bris, trackmaster from what I can tell.
Anyone know who puts these out, and where I can find out how to read them?
They have strange notations I am not familiar with.
They appear to be Euro forms of some sort, but for Hollywood Park.

Just spoke with her, they're likely Equibase cheapo style pp's. She got them at the Santa Anita front ofc. She's a DRF user, SA usually has DRF's available. No problem, the DRF's will be ready shortly

I looked under Hollywood. It's now listed as Betfair Hollywood. And listed in the PP's as bhp. We'll get used to it. :bang:
I used Equibase last fall, it was okay. I used the better Equibase format.
El K. said the pp's I got were the very cheapest they provide at Equibase.
I managed to handicap the Thursday card....sort of.
So, if anyone is looking for the pp's for Hollywood (probably you are not...LOL) be sure and look under Betfair Hollywood Park.

Count me in guys! It's Hollywood Park, home of the lakes and flowers!
Can't we get the Horseplayer's group to complain to Betfair? LOL
Wait until you see their bhp on all the works and pp's. Very annoying!

Ok Betfair is certainly in the game long term. However, we all know as soon as it makes economical sense Hollypark goes by the way of Bay Meadows. F Jack was at the helm of two dying ships. Way does a racetrack ownership deserve days if they are not into the game longer term?

Both your positions are admirable but as time wanes it will be Betfair Hollywood park if it survives. Look what happened to the Forum in L.A. How many people call Parx Philly Park after only a name change of one and a half years? Better yet how many call it Keystone? Old habits die hard but eventually father time wins out.
Till this day I refuse to call 6th Avenue by its other name but far less than 1% of America knows it was called that. My hat goes off to the Red Sox and Yankees for never succumbing to the almighty dollar.
My two cents says if its still up and running in three to five years the TVG name will also disappear and become Betfair.

They can call it Ebbets Field for all I care, but leave the abbreviation alone.
This is one big pain in the you know what going forward for our data bases.

How many call Charles Town, Hollywood Casino @ Charles Town?
The thing is BetFair Hollywood Park still has Hollywood Park in it's name. Parx doesn't have Philadelphia Park as part of the name, and Philadelphia Park didn't have Keystone as part of the name.

Good point just stating what happens down the road. For arguments sake not too many people called the Oak Tree meet anything else. Once you use the @ symbols people don't usually use that.
I still think you will be surprised if the electronic and print media start using Betfair it will become the norm down the road. As us older guys and gals die off it will be accepted by whatever new fans are introduced to the game.
The tracks don't give a rats as* about the database players or players as a whole that was my main point. Same thing with the stadiums the NFL Giants sold their tradition right down the drain when it became Met Life Stadium. They even have a Met Bowl trophy now for a preseason game between the Giants and the Jets.

Tom, I think I've even read you referring to Gravesend, old track in NY?
You sure look great for as old as you are!

Betfair???
I find it hard to believe that fans going out to a track that was called Hollywood Park for 74 years are now going to say I'm going out to Betfair to play the races.
No chance, not in this lifetime or the next.

Don't you guys remeber when Arlington was rebuilt after the fire and was called Arlington International Race Course and the pp code was "AIR"?
It was not too seasons when the Racing Form reverted back to "AP" and soon thereafter, so did the track itself.
These ideas are so dumb. Why don't they change Harrah's Louisiana Downs to HLD?

Without starting a new thread or actually attempting to see if this subject is part of another...
What the hell is the deal with using the names of the jocks in lieu of the horse names on the graphics?
I was wondering how the heck it was that Krigger had run in consecutive races until I realized that they all sounded sort of familiar.
