...A few years back, someone posted a list of points to consider when choosing Derby horses.
They were like:

...Must have run a triple digit beyer in a prep race.

...Must have been ITM in a Gr 1 or first or second in a grade 2.

...Etc.

...Etc.
...I tried a search, but I`m not too good at that. Didn`t seem to get too far.

..Would anybody remember this and possibly post it please?

Thanks.

Must have run at age 2
Must have finished at least 4th in last race
Must have run a -55 PF (broken last year, but generally holds)
Sire line of Raise a Native wins high % of time
Dosage must be under 4.5
Dosage points must be >15 (broken last year, but generally holds)
Former winning KD jockeys and trainers tend to win

There were many patterns (factors) given out for the Kentucky Derby but here are some that one can remember............1) BSF in the 90s'!

2) Final Quarter in a race of 9F < 25 seconds!

3) Horse in last prep race must finish 1, 2, 3!

4) Look at last three races!

5) Improving BSF! And improvement is gradual!
