There are worse riders. But I'm not sure there are worse riders that get decent mounts. His recent riding at Parx has been awful: usually by taking horses inside when they don't want to go there. With all the "ground saving" rides, I'm guessing the Sheet guys love him, but it's a ridiculous strategy at Parx.

I agree 100%. It is absolutely remarkable how often he ends up on dead rails at Parx....and he rides there every day. Just amazing.

the riders in PARX are the absolute worst for the money they are giving away there. what is happening is that trainer's there are letting these guys on their horses in the morning to save money on exercise riders. when they ride the horse in the afternoon they have no clue.

i had one this week there that all the guy had to do with just be a passenger, when the gate opened he was sitting back on the horse and broke 10 lengths behind the field. if that wasn't enough to get the horse beat, he made sure he got the job done and lost his head and rushed the horse up. my horse went off 11-1, with any legit rider i would have got 5-1 and won the stupid race.

its my fault, i should know better, i got what i deserved

Mr. Lambo, Are You Talking About Last Monday With The Horse Named Dudamel In The Last Race? If So You Are Spot On With Your Analysis Of That Race

Mr. Lambo, Are You Talking About Last Monday With The Horse Named Dudamel In The Last Race? If So You Are Spot On With Your Analysis Of That Racethat horse can win for maiden 40k, which is where he will be in when he runs again with either carabello or bisono on his back, thats a double step up, but that is where the horse belongs to start out with. parx has been a nightmare for me the last 2 years. i never had more seconds in my life anywhere but that place.

when i sent Dudemel up there he had no focus, we worked on him and he turned the corner. he is probably going to be a good race horse by the end of the summer.

when i go to new york, i am going to have rajiv on all my horses.

Just curious?

Why race at Parx anyway? If you have horse(s) that can race in NY...conditions and talent, etc...why race there? You have your pick of top jocks, the track accomodations are acceptable, stalls at either Bel or Aq or Sar and with the purses...you have a chance to do OK...even if you don't win more than once or twice. Horses, if consistent, do well enough to cover their costs and then some.

when you deal in young horses you have to be able to rate their ability. the horses that i send to PARX are not good enough to win in NEW YORK. the ones that i am sending to NEW YORK are all state bred horses. there is no other place for me to go.

on top of that, if i have a horse that could be good enough to run in NEW YORK, the cost to go to top trainers is way above my budget. that is why i go to PARX and MARYLAND.

Hey Andy , when do you get a chance to watch philly ??? You are the hardest working guy in the biz !!!

Parx has a dreadful bunch of riders. I can't tell you how often I watch a guy advancing wide on the outside in perfect position only forget to ask the horse for enough to pass or hold off a later move. Riders duck to the dead rail, they forget to "ask" the horse for anything and the percentance that are caught sitting at the break is a disgrace.

Folowing NY mainly, I have forgotten how frustrating it can be to watch bad riders.

today i saw a horse jump the inner rail at KEENELAND with jockey MATHEW STRAIGHT aboard, the horse threw the rider and it didn't look good. MATT
S brother also was a rider that got injured and is now paralyzed.i can only hope and pray that MATT is alright. when it comes down to it, being a jockey is not that easy a job, everytime they are on top of a horse their life is at risk.

so i got a bad ride in PARX, i have to be happy that the rider and horse are both well. the money that it cost me is meaningless when it all comes down to it, life is much more important than my stupid ego.

Geez. I just read this about Matt. Just a couple days ago he was working a horse on the rail and the saddle slipped. He went down on the rail and amazingly walked away with minor aches and pains.

Today WORLD RECORD runs back for good horseman Dunn race 9.
:1: r9 moves up to starter Allowance16 to protect the horse after Villanueva moved him up last time(in 7500 clm). way over his head 12-1. I can't bet protected claimers, but will be given every chance to be in top 3. (trifecta use?)

r6 UNO TOUCH = dud
r7 KIERELICIOUS:5: May win. horse PLODDED home to pace collapse win in 3 months ago. Trainer change to Guerrero gives some hope. Tough to bet but he has a chance.

nothing really that bettable, but he still probably makes 3 bids today.

------------------
Villanueva update: still riding among the best at Parx. Had ALL duds for a few days, last couple days had some 3rd or 4th best horses.

yesterday WIN with a scott lake quitter that at least had speed by 5Lengths SUNSHINE KATIE.

3RD (almost stole race) 10-1 shot SILENT SPIN.

25-1 shot Ocean Cracker given bold move on rail but horse was a complete dud.

when is this apprentice going to get good horses??
When is he coming to NY??
He's from Panama like NY apprentice Omar Hernandez right?? http://www.paulickreport.com/news/people/apprentice-jockey-hernandez-wins-with-first-two-north-american-mounts/
I know Hernandez is 16years old and he's doing well, but Villanueva is lengths better.

best young jockey I've seen recently. He just threw a big haymaker to the jaw of a Guerrero4/5shot with the kristina McManigel on board. Guerrero could have had that win purse if he chose the correct jockey.

This kid's mounts have been terrible lately. I see everything he does and I can NOT bet 90% of these mounts. He should be getting top 3 horses in every race he rides and that's only because of seniority of jocks like Carmouche. Best jockey at Parx right now. Bar none.

If he stays healthy and has no off-track issues he looks to be the real deal.

lol no comment
i prefer to say "better mounts"

his ITM streak with favs could be on the line here prx r1 on the 7horse , good trainer but sketchy form.

i think the 2nd choice #1 wins this.
