View Full Version : Rep. Alan West: 81 in Congress are Communists.

Congressman Alan West has raised a firestorm of controversy by claming that as many as 81 members of Congress are Communists. Many comments and links regarding his remarks. My personal reaction is only 81, would have thought more than that? Have long insisted that "Progressive" is simply a cover word for Marxist, and that members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus are the de facto New Communist Party, the NeoComs. Kudos to Congressman West for daring to openly state what many have suspected but were afraid to speak openly.

Oh...be prepared to suffer the wrath and scorn of the ultra naive Hcap. He thinks this nation is virtually communism-free but still loaded with paranoid McCarthy sympathizers. The Hcaps of the world need to get out more -- maybe start attending some of those OWS rallies and protests -- or for that matter any ol' Dem march or rally would equally suffice. :D

81 is low. This shouldn't be shocking information either. Even a casual observer would notice that the democratic party embraces communism.

There may be some communist bought and backed congressman but unless they are actively hustling both sides they are covert.

The guys West is calling communists are bought and backed by major corporations that primarily profit from the western economy.

We have Allen West making a typically brainless statement and the hallelujah chorus chimes in with equally brainless harmony. The difference between progressive and communist is much greater than the difference between conservative and fascist.

After thinking about it, I have come to realize that Blue Shoe and Boxcar and Arljim78 use communist not as a political/economic description, but as an insult.
In much the same way as a group of fifth grade boys would tell a fifth grade girl that she has cooties.

Prediction: Allen West will not be a congressman next January.

The only way I could be an idiot is you finally have come to your senses and recognize that there's little difference between the Dems and Commies. And that isn't very likely at all. I suspect you're still stuck on stupid.

No need for the redundancy. Communism is an insult to everything decent, good and virtuous.

The competition for conservative speaking fees must be heating up for him to try to separate himself from the likes Palin and the also ran GOP presidential candidates for him to make such statement in order to get his face on the news. Besides that, he also stole the idea if not the exact quote from Bachmann. It is just plain lame. Is he so hard up for ideas to promote himself that he steal from other conservative spokespeople? I would think a conservative group I rather have the real thing in Bachmann rather than a ripoff artist like West. But who knows! Maybe he will steal a few engagements from her.

Prediction: Allen West will not be a congressman next January.

The voters will decide, as it should be. Hopefully, the voters will also decide that Obama should retire to private life and that anyone standing for reelection be sent back home. I know there are a few good politicians in the legislative branch but a fresh start is really necessary if this country intends to move forward.
The recent negotiations starting last summer to meet an August deadline on the nations debt limit is a glaring example of two parties that that are out of touch with reality that refuse to make the hard decisions necessary for the good of the country. The pols are more concerned about ideology and have shown that neither wants to talk seriously and would rather play political football with the nations
economy.
If this debacle occurred in the private sector, in any major corporation, all of the involved parties would have been given their walking papers. So lets give them their termination notices come November regardless of party affiliation. Boemer, Cantor and any Senator running for reelection in "gang of six" deserve a defeat at the polls.Alll of Obamas senior aids, legislative team are IMO a disgrace that is an embarrassment to the executive branch.

I can't imagine why anyone would vote Republican except people who think tax cuts are priority #1, believe what the NRA tells them, or has some religious beliefs only Republicans will tolerate for votes.

Okay, let's discuss taxation.

Why do we need it, and how high should it be ? All I hear these days from the goodfight fighters is "more, more, more ... Bush ... Cheney ... fair share (just not from me) ..." Kinda like the teachers, who will never ever just say, "Okay, that's enough for this year. In fact, take a few billion back."

According to our 21st century rocket scientists in the GOP, there is no better time to cut taxes than when starting a war.

Then, after 10 years of pigging out on said tax cuts, scream from the highest mountaintop that if you were still in charge, you would never let your grandkids get stuck with so much debt.

you're completely wrong as usual Robert. its the progressive caucus of the democratic party, the ones that West is referring to, that are in love with Fidel, they have vistied Cuba and gushed over how wonderful the man is.

its people like Chicago's own Danny Davis who receive honors from the communist party for being an inspiring leader.

the progressive caucus which numbers something like 70 or 80 members are completely in synch with the socialists, they are considered fellow travelers. non of this is hidden, although many people like yourself refuse to acknowledge or believe it.

whatever you want to call them, communist, socialists, statists, the fact is they want to fundamentally change this country, they abhor the free market, they seek to redistribute wealth, and they are antithetical to individual freedom.

the sad state of affairs now is that if you are in the mainstream of the democratic party you are a practicing communist.

Pretty much. Leftists aren't great critical thinkers. Why do you think the LEFT is always wanting to shut down debates and limit free speech? Leftists are, generally, intellectually impoverished when it comes to anything that even remotely touches upon moral issues. (Go Google Van Jones wherein just recently he told his detractors to "sit down and shut up". What an intellectually stimulating idea. )

Mitt Romney is a man who seems to have integrity. Your cowardly friend who you are going back and forth with (who I can't see :jump: ) is a proven liar. Can't find much in common with those two.

Nah...I would say much more like Obama and Karl Marx. The Mitten and I don't have very much in common, I'm afraid.

  The one who can't see me   is either a liar or steeped in willful ignorance. Romney has already been caught in lies. LS can only dream about catching me in one. That's as close as he'll ever get.

Me sentiments exactly. I wouldn't trade places with Mitten for all the gold in the world. Believe me: I am genuinely thankful for God's sovereign grace in my life.

You know what I just love about commies: Good commies stick together through thick and thin, through the good times and bad times, through the times of plenty and times of want, through times of peace and through times of war. Good commie blood runs thicker any blood relatives'. Look who else is endorsing our Marxist-in-Chief:

Former Soviet Union Premiere Mikhail Gorbachev Says He‘ll ’Support Obama’

In a story that is sure to delight conservatives with a sense of irony, former Soviet head honcho Mikhail Gorbachev has announced that he has every intention of supporting President Obama for reelection. It’s not quite an endorsement, but it’s as close as Gorbachev will probably get. You may remember that this is the same Mikhail Gorbachev who dissolved the Soviet Union, which he only did, according to some sources, after being thoroughly outgunned and outfoxed by former President Ronald Reagan in the 1980′s.

The birdies are flockin' together during this election season.
