The National HBPA reports on threshold levels of 12 therapeutic medications.

Seems Lasix has a new name SALIX. The recommendations did call for the amount of Salix that could be administered to a horse.

Only 2 states, Kentucky and Louisiana do not regulate the amount of Salix that can ben given to a horse on race day.

Kentucky the home of Dr. Alex Harthill, (WHO WAS RECENTLY FINED $1000.00 FOR THE USE OF DRUGS) president of the Kentucky HBPA, which resisted any calls for regulation of the amount of Salix that can be given on race day.

Gee I wonder how much that 1000 fine set Harthill back? What a joke! Although I do bet Kentucky racing it is a wonder I do well given the drug situation in that state. Maybe I get lucky with horses on the elixir. I try not to think about it and just bet, but after some races you do wonder....
