No Ray I am not Rowdy ;) I'm a very laid back guy. Also I'm not mini as I'm 6 ft 4inches tall. :)
I was thinking also that the 7-2 line on Gibbs last night was wishful thinking.
With so many tracks having drops in handle it's nice to see Balmoral doing so well. They are having a very solid uptick in business. Hope it keeps up as it's a good betting track. Maybe the mild winter is helping them. Did you see the temp listing at the start of the Balmoral program? 77 for March 21. Maybe PK will check in and give us his thinking on why Balmoral is doing so much better handle wise than other tracks.

Appears that the pic4/5 with it's 15% takeout is really helping that increase in handle. Last night a record amount bet into the pic4 without a carryover.

I think Balmoral is doing well because they are catering more and more to the gambler and not as much to the track itself. That 15% takeout is going over great there no matter what day of the week. Guaranteed money also helps. They also have the mile track which I feel puts them leagues above others for the sole fact that any race is truly wide open.

When you get on that long stretch at Balmoral, horses from the ten hole have the opportunity to go 4-7 wide and still have a shot at winning. It is a bettor's track and it shows as I believe they have the lowest winning favorites in the nation. Definitely something to be said for that.

$.50 tri's, $.10 supers, .50 pick 5....really what more could you want from the track from a bettor's perspective.
