Hello folks,

I wanted to take a moment to recognize a few RDSS users, Sartin Methodology practitioners who are demonstrating their mettle in exemplary fashion in the current PaceAdvantage Contest Series.

The annual Riders Up Aqueduct Pick4 Contest has just concluded with a thrilling last minute victory by cdax, after dogging the leaders for much of the race. Great 'Sustained Energy' - congratulations Chris, a well-rounded and tenacious handicapper! I'd also like to give am honourable mention shout-out to rmath, buffaloxp and pktruckdriver. Well done all!

The PAIHL Team Contest - with about 6 weeks left to go, Team Squatheads (RDSS) - dogkatcher and goatchaser (!) - have managed to hang on to top position for the past 2 weeks, with Teams Zenyatta and The Ruler nipping at their heels. Team Texas RDSS and Team Sartin are also within close striking distance of the top 6, with the 3 other RDSS Teams not far out of the hunt. Way to go guys and gals (though for me, I admit this contest is getting a bit tiring: the winners will be the ones who find stamina and keep team focus to the end).

The RDSS Sartin/Bradshaw Memorial 'Run for the Roses' Contest. Though only a little over 1 week into the 6 week run, RDSS/Methodology practitioners are holding most of the top positions (as at March 17):

1st. Brian O'Rourke
3rd. Budman
4th. Kahunab
5th. pktruckdriver

Early days yet but gentlemen: your success makes me proud and also grateful to Doc Sartin and Jim 'The Hat' Bradshaw for the legacy of concepts and software tools they (and others) taught for 25+ years. Still as relevant, or more so, than ever.

All of these 'winning-minded' individuals bring various backgrounds to the handicapping/wagering process - some relying exclusively on Methodology concepts, some also bringing a variety of backgrounds to the table. RDSS is not a black box, but rather a toolset - a methodology - to present often non-obvious insights into race analysis and betting opportunities, based on Sartin's premise that 'the horse run's the race' and core concepts such as incremental energy disbursement, Early/Late, the Matchup.

I don't feel compelled to rattle on further about RDSS right now. I thought that the results of current Contests were speaking rather more eloquently at the moment than all my words. I agree that Contest play is not necessarily proof of ability to persistently take money out of this game, and is also not everyone's cup of tea. But such pervasive results probably mean something ...

If anyone is interested in learning more about RDSS and the Sartin Methodology (including developments post Modern Pace Handicapping and Pace Makes the Race), here is a good place to start:

There are endless, free materials including Follow Up journals, videos and seminar audios. The newest version of RDSS 2.0 is nearing completion of its Beta testing and is the version employed by all the folks mentioned above.

In the coming days, I expect to post a series of interviews and 'how-I-did-it' videos using RDSS 2.0. Stay tuned!

Again, congratulations to everyone who is contributing to the excitement and enjoyment of the PaceAdvantage Contest Series!
