8th race lead horse broke down only to be hit by another. Don't know outcome but the other horse appears to be limping badly.

Both jocks to hospital...that's all I know at this point...

That was a nightmare scenario...horse goes down...gets up...and runs directly into the path of an oncoming horse on the rail...like I said in the other thread...looked AWFUL....

Glad it's the last day on the inner track. I don't know a lot about track surfaces but I wonder how much a role the warm weather is playing on this winter surface. I haven't played Aqueduct much this year. Don't like the majority of the cards.

Well, they should have lowered the purse. I had to waste my time trying to understand this insanity of lowering the purse so that a horse would not break down. We need to lower the - epo, lidocaine, & snake venom.

Per NYRA, Mob Wife is banged up but ok. Suave n Sassy is ok too. Dominguez has possible collarbone injury and Camacho is complaining of back pain- both at the hospital. Goodbye inner track- what a disaster this year.

Both jocks released from the hospital. No issues at all for Camacho. Dominguez had a dislocated clavicle; no fractures but he is expected to miss some time.

Could have been a hell of a lot worse for all involved.

DrfPrivman----Agent Mike Monroe reports that jockey Samuel Camacho Jr. escaped AQU spill without injury. Cleared to ride Wednesday

----Recovery time for Dominguez could impact mounts in next starts for Alpha (scheduled to run in 2-3 wks) and Hansen (3 wks).

----Dominguez just told me he hopes to see specialist tomorrow to get better idea of how much time he will miss. Said thankful injury not worse

Aqu is terrible in many ways. Small fields, uncompetitive fields, no value, and unsafe. They are quickly becoming California racing on the east coast.

Maybe the NY state legislature will force them to install that fake dirt / rubber stuff....

It would not matter if this garbage were running on tracks made of cotton.

Agreed, though a few betting days without him there might be welcomed. Did you see that ride on Flat Bold today? Sometimes he really is just too good for the rest of these guys (sans Junior).

I was actually at AQU yesterday and race 7 had two breakdowns of the :4: and :3: horse (after the finish)

The vet didnt know which way to run once she was on the track. The 4 is at the 1/8 pole and the 3 is in the clubhouse turn, I left after that b/c this is b/s!!!

The purses they are running for too much and red flag class droppers and over the place. You know what? I dont blame track safety per se, I blame unsound horses by trainers that KNOW they arent fit to run, but rather chase a purse and hope to cash on a bad horse.

Speaking of AQU, unless you are on the 3rd floor, the place sucks and I perfer BEL anyway of the week. Not that I go often to NY b/c of the tolls, gas, etc

Unfortunately the horse racing industry has much to learn from other professional sports. Lesson 1, protecting the investment in their athletes. Running horses in races too close together. Have seen this at Aq this meet. Running unsound horses is just inexcusable. The other lesson they could take away from is multiple tracks running big races on the same day. They don't put NFL or MLB playoff games on opposite each other. I don't know why these tracks do it.

As far as your view of Aqueduct, my dad always referred to it as a factory. His last visit there was sometime in the mid sixties. I have never been there as a player as he never had anything good to say about the place. Belmont however, I like a lot. I try to make it there for the Belmont (at least) every year. Breakfast at Belmont is also a treat.

How Common is a Dislocated Collarbone? How do you Treat it?

http://drmillett.com/ask/how-common-is-a-dislocated-collarbone-how-do-you-treat-it/

Sternoclavicular Dislocation

http://www.learningradiology.com/archives06/COW%20202-Dislocated%20Clavicle/dislocatedclavcorrect.htm

A 'safe' surgical technique for stabilisation of the sternoclavicular joint: a cadaveric and clinical study.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2503485/

As one who suffered a shoulder dislocation it isn't really pleasant when it pops out when you least think about it. I could be eating with a fork and it could happen. Once it was surgically repaired I never had a problem again.

If it dislocates for Dominquez one more time pretty sure he will have the sugary can't imagine the thought of riding a horse and having to think about it in the back of your mind. Trust me even when I played basketball after it was done I favored my right shoulder a little.

Glad no bad injuries and glad I didn't see it!
