For over a year I have been down loading real time tote board data into what is ultimately a data base format. Many attempts have been made to find that "silver bullet" formula which will turn silver into gold. Here are the current results for one such live-attempt.
It's a FAVORITE (some times the 2nd choice) place play. Data suggest that tote board conditions, approximately 1 minuet to post time, will predict favorites that ARE, OR ARE NOT to be played.
26 days:
USA RACING:
180 plays, 46% winners returning .82 roi, 75% place returning .99 roi*
UK AND SAF RACING:
33 plays, 30% winners returning .67 roi**, 67% place returning .82 roi
* above the expected norm
** below the expected norm
*,** these results can not be determined statistically significant, because I have not kept score of the non system favorites in the same odds range. So right now it's no more than a good hunch!! :)
