Ray I notice that the Robot has race 7 at Chester. That's the first leg of the pic4. What's the Robot have for the other three legs? There is a carryover on today's pic4 at Chester. You know I'm a "pic" bet lover. However I have NOT made a pic3 bet yet nor do I intend to at Chester. Reason---take rate 26% for a pic3. The pic4---15%.

I know for the regular player the pic4 might have limited appeal. Some like to bet only on races they have a strong view on. Or the races in the pic bet might not be "classy" enough. I understand that. I do not bet every pic4 just because it's there either. However I think the casual and many regular players should consider the value of the pic4 with it's 15% take. Most tracks have a min bet on the pic4 of $1.00 and many with a 50cent min. At the risk of being called a "redboarder" I had the pic4 at Dover yesterday. Winners in the legs were $6 $6 $7 and $5. Not all that hard right? Well the payoff came back $590. At Balmoral last night I did NOT hit the pic4. Had 3 outta 4. The payoff was just over $23,000. Also for the casual player at ustrotting.com they give out FREE yes FREE Trackmaster PP'ss for the pic4 races. Not the stripped down version either.

I think a great idea is for the player to work on getting a pic4 "plan". Start out doing it on paper bets. With the pic4 just do not count on hitting a lot of plays. Limit the amount of combo's but at the same time don't try and "win on the cheap". With the 50 cent min at some tracks this bet is not out of reach. Also the 15% take beats the take on WPS bets at 99% of all tracks, either s-bred or t-bred.

My "rant" FOR the day. :)

good points mel, rant on, rant on :)

I couldn't get comfortable with any of the 4 races (didn't know about the CO) but

my Single would be the 3 in Race 10, Keystone Torch trained by Pena's "beardette" ...Jennifer

Race 9 is the one that really drove me away, might go for a single and hope, hope, hope #4 ??? or pass

825 | 3524 | 4 | 3 ...........12 tickets

Good Luck

Question for anyone out there..
What's the best web-link to Carry Overs for Harness?

That's the right idea Ray. Not every pic4 is a play. Maybe a small "take a shot" ticket at best.
Esp at the start of a meet like now at Chester.

It was tap dancing time in R4. We got wiped out as the fav took a waltz. Somehow the 3 still got 4th. LOL

Total win pool for R4 at Chester $4.075. Sad very sad.
