Lots of rain forecast for Santa Anita, which is why I did not include them this week...Tampa didn't afford any non-maiden races with large fields...so I had to reach a bit with Turf Paradise and even Parx (yes, I know that is a maiden race, but at least they all have PPs).

For some reason, I cant seem to get the page to load the same way twice, but when I googled 'BrisWatch Forest Danger', one of the first links was for "Summary, Runners By All Sires". It was a humongous page and nearly halfway down, several of the KY breds in that race had the PPs listed. However, I have tried twice now to load that page and it loads an abbreviated version that doesn't have those PPs.

I did save the PDF (luckily), so if it isn't going to cause anybody any trouble, I can attach it to the thread.

There is no free PP for Tup 9 as far as I know...I had a major brain fart when I had that race on my preliminary list, and it somehow made it into the final list even though it had no PPs...

Not much more I can do at this point except apologize once again...

I would have to think at least one team member on a majority of teams has access to some sort of data for TUP race 9.

Like an idiot, I saved the PDF to my other computer thinking the second link was working and am home now without it - but if it isn't something that is only mistakenly accesible, I can attach the file when I'm on that computer tomorrow.

Perhaps that link is erroneously returning more data than it should. I noticed once before that when a link wasn't on the site we usually use that I could sometimes find them by searching for the name of a sire along with "BrisWatch". The link, when working for me, is linking to PPs for TONS of races - I've only looked at the race in question - but I'm beginning to think with all of the intermittent success using it that it is not intended to load all of those races. I'd understand if you decided to delete a couple of my posts that refer to the link.

I respectfully (but strongly) disagree. I am a recreational player who does not subscribe to any data services; who participates in this contest strictly for fun and "bragging rights"; and who does not have the knowledge or the time to comb through whatever resources are available looking for free past performances for this race. I would venture to say that my two teammates are in the same situation, and I would have to think that, out of over forty teams, there must be others in the same situation. If the contest organizers have erroneously selected a race for which free past performances are not readily available, that's understandable. Anyone can make a mistake. But don't non-uniformly punish the teams by leaving them to their own devices once the problem has been pointed out. Either substitute another race, or else cancel the event altogether. (Wasn't at least one of the previous weeks -- either in this iteration of PAIHL or a previous running -- conducted with only seven races when a similar snafu occurred?)

The issue is that supplying past performances has been and is the responsibility of the contest organizers, not the contestants. Aren't there any other races that go off after the post time for Event #7? And, if not, cancel Event #8 altogether.

Three guys who can't purchase 1 racing form makes them look pretty cheap.
The organizers of the contest are fortunate enough to supply the PP's most of the time.
That's a bonus to us. Nice addition, but not necessary.
If I go to the track, I don't rely on freebie pp's.
That's part of the cost of playing races.
I don't use the on line free pp's provided here.
I buy my own for every track and every race.

While the goal always has been to use races that have free PPs available, it is certainly not our responsibility (and never was stated as such) to "supply past performances."

This was a screw up on my part. I don't know how this got past me, but it did. I was critical earlier in the contest of the schedule maker when he made a mistake, so I fully accept all of the criticism in this case

But considering we're all horseplayers, and the vast majority of us have access to Past Performances (it's quite reasonable to assume that at least one of three team members on each team does), cancelling the race wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.

That's a drawback (from a monetary return perspective) of playing without knowledge of actual odds. You have to base your selections on the horses most likely to win, rather than on full-field wagering value. (I guess (for lack of anything better) that you could use the morning line as an indicator of possible overlays, but that creates quite a margin for possible error.)
