Interesting article on by Beyer on journeyman jockey Craig Faine at Tampa Bay Downs. Faine lost 122 consecutive races. This article illustrates what can happen to a jockey that does not get live mounts. I wonder how many of these horses Jerry Bailey would have gotten home?

I think he may have topped that streak at Finger Lakes in recent years.
Jockeys getting live mounts? How many get live mounts and then kill them? hehe.

Anyone remember Steve Cathern? Hope I spelled name correct.

Most likley before a lot of folks time. Lost around 110 in a row after becoming a leading jock in NY.

Got to wonder if it's the agents or is the fix in and alive.

Nice article by Andy Beyer.

Yesterday at TBD, Steve Kewin rode his first race, the 1st, on American Strike an S2 and came in 3rd.

Steve ran 2nd in the 8th aboard Crook on the Run, S1,ML 12/1.

I meet Steve at the Tampa simulcast this summer and have yet met a young jockey more enthusiastic than he.

I watched Steve very closely yesterday and have never seen a new rider bring his mount out of the gate as straight or as under control as he does.

Say what you want but talented riders can win on any mount.
