Tonight (3/8) at 8pm ET (5pm PT), on our live Internet radio show "Winning Ponies", we welcome the owner of Kentucky Derby hopeful Hansen, Dr. Kendall Hansen and Lenny Shulman of the Blood-Horse. During the handicapping segment, we will be covering the weekend's major races, including the Tampa Bay Derby, the Swale Stakes, the San Felipe Stakes and the Palm Beach Stakes.

Dr. Hansen is the breeder and majority owner in Eclipse Award winner Hansen. He will tell us what got him interested in the thoroughbred industry, and how does it feel to have bred one of the main favorites in this year's Kentucky Derby. In the second segment Lenny Shulman of the Blood-Horse magazine, author of several horse racing books, and a successful writer/producer of many TV shows will join the host in focusing on the 3-year-old races leading up to the Derby, the Tampa Bay Derby, the Swale Stakes, the San Felipe Stakes and the Palm Beach Stakes.
Guest #1 Bio - Dr. Kendall Hansen
Dr. Hansen is the breeder and majority owner in Eclipse Award winner Hansen. He is a graduate of Indiana University and its School of Medicine, paying for most of his first year of medical school with money he made betting horses, a pursuit he learned from a co-worker while working at a Ford plant in Indianapolis. Dr. Hansen moved to Kentucky in 1988 because of his love of thoroughbreds and is head of Interventional Pain Specialists in Crestview Hills. He has owned racehorses for about 30 years.

Lenny Shulman is an Emmy Award-winning writer who has worked in newspaper, magazine, TV, and film. For the past 13 years he has served as Features Editor of the Blood-Horse magazine. He is the author of the book “Ride of Their Lives”, a look at the problems faced by top jockeys in their lives and careers. He is also the writer and producer of “And They’re Off”, a bi-monthly video on bloodhorse.com. As a TV writer Lenny worked nine years as a writer/producer of the popular children’s show “Kids Incorporated”. He also worked for FOX Sports on its NFL pre-game show, for which he won the Emmy Award, and also worked with comedian Andrew Dice Clay on the feature film “Dice Rules” and on several HBO comedy specials.
