The Thoroughbred Corp. will disperse all of its racing stock at the Barretts March 2-year-olds in training sale on March 2. Among the 58 horses to be sold is multiple graded stakes winner Atlantic Ocean.
Other notable horses to be offered are stakes performers Major Idea, Orville N Wilbur's, Honest Answer, and So Urgent. Atlantic Ocean is scheduled to race Saturday in the La Brea Stakes (gr. I) at Santa Anita.
The group also includes five 2-year-olds, among them Cat Fighter, a Storm Cat filly who was an impressive allowance winner at Hollywood Park earlier this year.
The Thoroughbred Corp. dispersal will leadoff the Barretts sale. Horses for both sales will be combined in one catalog, which is scheduled for publication in early February.
The Thoroughbred Corp. has been headed by Prince Faisal Salman since the death of his younger brother, Prince Ahmed Salman, in July 2002 just weeks after the stable won the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) with War Emblem. Nearly all of the stable's breeding and young stock was sold at this year's Keeneland November mixed sale.
The Thoroughbred Corp. also won the Preakness (gr. I) and Belmont (gr. I) Stakes in 2001 with Point Given and added its third Breeders' Cup victory this year with Johar, who dead-heated with High Chaparral in the John Deere Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. I
