She's supposedly a professional sports figure. Prancing around with not so subtle innuendos that she'll be taking her clothes off any second is unscrupulous and unnecessarily titillating.

The ads clearly don't work. I can't even remember they're for Go Daddy. (Hey, wait a minute. That came out wrong)

Hey, Buckaroo.

I sat and watched her play on grass in Indian Wells. Chatted with her afterwards briefly. Not a bright girl.

That was one hell of a hit. I was watching it live and was a little worried about that whack she took.

No matter what you think of her, she is tough. The best female racer, at least success wise, in my lifetime.

I am sorry this woman deserves the respect, she is tough and confident and smart, and drives a race car better than I could.

I think she will win her share of races in Nascar, more than Juan Pablo who came over from the Open cars, few make the transfer and become champs in Nascar, but they do win races every now and then, as will Danica.

1 thing for sure, she knows how to take a hit...

All I can say is Good Luck Danica, my thoughts

Why shouldn't she?

There's nothing wrong with the objectification of women (I like that phrase). It's a choice and a good financial one at that.

Athletes make millions pushing whatever product. Why shouldn't she? Did anyone blink when Jordan did the Hanes commercials?

Chantel did a Playboy interview, Danica probably made some serious bucks from her commercials... are they required to uphold some standard? Was there a memo that they should act virginal? Can't they be feminists and make a profit at the same time? Why is it assumed they're selling out when they do the same thing as male sports figures?

Good for her.

Let me know when Jordan makes a spot and talks of his johnson, not unlike beaver.

What I love about her is that she's willing to go along with any script. I like that in a woman.

AND she's high brow. Mmmm.

2H-CeS8FT7k

Next week she rolls out a series of Extenze commercials. They told her to say all kinds of racy thangs. She did, & does.

Don't forget to root for her on the track. Vrooommmm.

You go girl.

Well I would root for her on the track if i watched that type of thing. Sorry to say I don't. I'll root for her in life though.

Point taken about Jordan.

The beaver stuff is very funny and partly, I think, because it's unexpected.

She's got guts and talent. I hope she continues making a killing in whatever manner she sees fit.

When Bullish Luck won the Champions Mile ending Silent Witnesses winning streak the headlines in HK were that SW lost.

When Blame won at the BC a lot of people who don't follow racing at all knew that Zenyatta lost.

If Black Caviar lost to say Hay List I doubt he'd get the headlines.

How 'bout Playboy. No. How 'bout Oui? (Is that still around?)

I knew there was something that rubbed me the wrong way about her and her unzipping her outfit and then talking about 'Beaver' is about as low as you can get for a woman to be engaged in a nationally run spot.

Sends a nice image for all the girl scouts out there.

How dare she have a sense of humor.

Let's see she's dedicated, works hard, has talent, is successful in a male dominated field, and has a sense of humor.

Her naturalness is attractive to both men and women but you're right... she should just get a Betty Crocker flip, a Donna Reed apron and retire.

Here's a woman in a man's sport, who is probably looked upon highly by a number of young girls.
Kid: Mommy, can I be like Danica someday?
Ma: Sure homey (Scratch that) honey.
Kid: What does she mean by beaver?

I thought you got my reference to Jordan? If johnson threw ya, how 'bout this? They have a bunch of dudes exiting cars holding cocks? You with me? What's the difference between cocks & beavers? (Don't answer that!)

How in the world could she agree to shoot a spot like that and be taken seriously as a woman is beyond me. ReeDickHughLus. Gloria Steinem is rolling in her grave. Is she dead?

Chick makes a decision like that, nudity is just around the kerner. Who knows afta that.

That's all. No big whoop.

I'm new here so please understand that this isn't an attack on your character as much as that I'm bemused by you. Why do you think I didn't understand the Johnson line?

No I don't believe for a second a young girl would have a conversation like that as there is a beaver as in animal in the commercial.

Nudity is just around the corner? I'm shocked I tell you. Shocked.

If that were true, and for the life of me I don't understand your thinking here but if it were? So what.

More importantly why would you assume that? That and calling her a chick could be construed as being sexist.

Why the concern over Steinem's possible reaction (yes she is still alive) when you're making unfair and degrading assumptions? Your assumptions reflect what could be your character more than anyones opinion of her.

You said yourself she's a woman in a mans sport. Wouldn't Ms. Steinem applaud her for being a catalyst for change and respect her individual freedom even if she didn't agree with specific choices?

When it comes down to it even if you were right which I'm sorry to say, I find laughable, why would nudity be a problem for you? That is the implication here... that you would disapprove.

Let's not forget Julie Krone.

She won a lot of races in her time -- including the Belmont Stakes.

In a sport dominated by males jockeys, it has not been easy for a female to get a good mount in a Triple Crown race.

It was a fuel mile gamble. It's a big part of racing. Drivers win that way all the time. Especially in indy cars. I watched that race and she won that race using the same strategy that a few other drivers were using. I believe she was running 3rd or 4th before the pit stops. No shame in that at all.

On the flip side, a fuel issue cost her a possible Indy 500 victory a couple years back. Luck plays a huge part in most all sports, bad as well as good.

Anna Kournikova gets a bad rap.

In 2000 she reached #8 in the world rankings as a singles player. She consistently ranked in the Top 15 during her career.

She, along with Martina Hingis were ranked #1 in doubles off and on for a period of four years.

Her singles record is 209–129. Her doubles record is 200-71. This was achieved despite numerous injuries during her final few years of competitive play.

That is not too shabby! I only wish I could be #8 in the world in any athletic endeavor.

Give her a break!

I agree with you, but the point i was trying to make was in open wheel racing and any form of motorsports for that matter there are two kinds of pilots, there are "racers" and then there are "drivers", Danica falls into the latter.
The attention she received was undeserved, i understand why she was kept around and probably did alot for the sport and for women in general, i get it. Nascar needs the attention these days, the ratings have been falling dramatically over the last few years and the sponsors have been dropping like fly's, it's been tuff for all forms of motorsports since the removal of tobacco and liquor sponsorship. I would make a hefty bet that she will never see the winners circle in Nascar, many great open wheel "racers" have tried and failed, and i am surprised Montoya has lasted as long as he has in the good ol boys club, but then again he is the real deal.
In my books she will never be a "racer" in the grand scheme of things, just a marketing tool.

Yeah right......

He has 18 Sprint Cup wins and 23 Nationwide Series Wins
2 Nationwide Championships

That's a pretty good career and well above almost everybody else except maybe the top 5 teams

He hasnt won a Race in 2.5 seasons, but he is far from done. In fact he is 2nd in the points right now -6 points.

He is in the top performing car in the Hendrick stable right now. This could be a big year for the marketing tool.........
