What do you all think? Is the 8 year ban the BHA gave George Prodromou too much, not enough, or is it just about right?

Lifetime ban - the game needs to take out the trash.

This quote from the trainer, George Prodromou, is the key:

"“An eight-year ban is unheard of, especially for the amounts of money they are talking about."

I need to know how much money was involved before deciding if 8 years is too much or too little.

Honestly, I cannot find specific amounts but this is an interesting read.

From the BHA site...

Oh and I applaud the 8 year ban and would have no problem had it been even longer.

Trash indeed.

Why is that relevant? He defrauded the betting PUBLIC ... every person that wagered on that race. I don't care how much he stood to gain.

Of course, if he did it here, it'd probably be 5 days and a $2000 fine.

if the Jockey had given a more skillful stiff job in these instances...or am I missing something..the betting irregularities are there to uncover of course, but which came first, the cart or the horse?

This reminds me of the uncovering of the pick 6 sting a few years back.

The money has nothing to do with it.
It is the integrity of the game and the LACK of it in the trainer.
The man is a crook!

I would say life, but compared to the slap on the wrist he would get here, BRAVO!

Agreed. Bravo is right.

This piece of crap only got 4 years.

He was going to get up to ten and ended up retiring but still... he should have gotten a lifetime ban.

Disgusting excuse for a person.
