Nevada Approves Rules for Self-Driving Cars

Nevada has become the first state in the United States to approve self-driving cars, a necessary step for Google's vision to become a reality.

Both were written by Philip K. Dick. Great Sci Fi writer whose stuff is filled with all sorts of profound social and technological foresight.

Blade Runner (1982), based on Dick's 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep

Total Recall (1990), based on the short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale"

There was a recent program on either SciFy or History that documented Dick and his contributions. It was almost staggering.

Nevada is already #1 in allowing brainless drivers, maybe this will help :bang:

Baltimore is bad, but not in the same league as Boston.

...Total Recall (1990), based on the short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale"

I remember reading this and then seeing the movie years later and having it take about 72 minutes before I realized it seemed familiar.

Good article in Wired about this that references the Nevada decision also.

I've driven in many of those places, even lived in Boston. I can't imagine how the Phoenix area isn't on the list. This is the only place I've ever lived where the whole state flocks to the extreme left lane on all roads and the only passing allowed is to the extreme right. I know there were dirt roads and buggies here not that long ago, but sonofabitch if every trip out the driveway isn't the most maddening adventure imaginable.
