Not that this is going to apply to me very often, but in the off chance that I would hit a withholding ticket, are those funds available right away, or do they have to go through mailing out something for me to sign in order to release them? Are some ADWs better than others about this?

yes, at least with TVG and Twinspires, funds are available right away (less federal withholding if applicable). within a week or so they will mail you a hard copy of the W-2G

TwinSpires changed their policy as far as mailing out W-2g Forms. They now wait until January and mail them out at once. You can always go to their webpage and check the "manage my account" section for monthly updates during the year.
