Who is your cannot lose horse of the day and why?

Mine is #10 Skip Code in the 7th Race at Oaklawn Park. I like 2nd out over the surface, I like the drop in class and I LOVE the switch to Berry!!

What you say??

If you don't mind 1-5, then :5: The Last Meow in the 4th at Gulfstream.
Pletcher trainee, in her first out, Jan 6 at Gulf, ran these Bris numbers:
E1-92 E2-96 / LP-99 SPD-99.
Won by 7 1/2 lengths under a hand-ride.

I take it back....1-9 is more like it.

When I saw this I thought wow I never actually look to see who the most likely winner will be - I'm always just running my spot plays and comparing my line to the tote.

So if I had to pick a single horse to win w/o respect to odds I would go with the :3: in R2 at SA...I think she will be a special filly. Projecting from her first race she lays over the field today and Baffert has her ready to fire off the freshening. I especially like her turn time from her first and only race.

Hmmm... Not so sure this one is the perfect example of "can not lose", but if I had to make one play on an entire care and look for the best ROI - my play would be LOVE LOGIC (TuP, Race 8, #9).

Connections finally found the right spot with this filly last time dropping her into bottom non-threes in a spot in which she really did look like she could not lose. Naturally, she stumbled horribly leaving the gate, then was powerchecked about eleventeen times into and around the first turn. From there it didn't get a whole lot better to the half as both the filly and jock were completely out of sorts and eventually both quit one another entirely and she checked in last of all.

She's had a little freshening, shows a nice breeze in the interim, and returns in a similar but perhaps slightly tougher spot at the same level. Morning line is 5-1 and in a small pool day (Sunday), its a bit tough to predict, but that sounds about right - I wouldn't expect any lower than 3-1 unless a few large wagers are made on her by individuals on track.

WOW !! Was out of the house for a few hours; just watched the replay of race 4 at Gulf.
Sheesh, I couldn't have been more wrong if I tried. Freakin' LAST....the horsie runs.
Monday morning quarterbacking, I guess you could say, he probably bounces off that Jan effort. But Pletcher's horses don't seem to bounce....they just fizzle out after a couple of races.
Oh well; I hope there was good 'capping for everyone else.

I didn't think it would be easy, once I started to try to find a "lock" all I could see were reasons why they wouldn't win......

I'm ashamed of what a piece of crap my pick ran like. It's days like this I quietly salute the idiots that banned internet wagering in my state.

Something got her worked up in the paddock. She actually spun around several times and "glared" at something (another horse maybe?) behind her. Once on the track she was sent off on her own (away from the other horses.) I kept watching to see if maybe she might have warmed up through it - but saw that wasn't the case when she reached the gate. She resisted a little and had to be "helped" into her gate stall.

I say draw a line through today's effort because her mind was never focused on racing.

I appreciate you providing the look I can't get when I'm not there. That's the biggest reason I don't bet much anymore.

I saw her look a little waspy warming up and then was a hog at the load.

I thought she was coming up dead short outside the quarter pole, but then had some fight left - but I never remember seeing her get off her left lead through the lane. It was just an ugly race and I haven't yet watched the replays again, but my first impression was that she might just be fried. Your opinion helps temper that first impression, so thanks.

You ought to be able to c. http://www.turfparadise.com/video.html

This is clear evidence, Mr. Platt is one of the hardest working men in ShoeBusiness. What, with watchin' warm-ups & all.

Work hard, make a couple of shekels. Work harder, make more.

....

I'm a watcher when I bet. I'm a hack these days but once upon a time I did pretty okay at ole' TuP. I watch the live feed every day, but it is useless for what I like to watch before betting.

Ninety percent of the time between the previous race replay and the current race post parade is advertisements for buying an overpriced buffet on Derby day or other similarly engaging visual stimulation. Then the on-track footage during warm-ups is an exercise in finding the one horse that is slowly walking around while the jock and pony girl flirt for eight minutes. If you want to see the horse that broke from the pony and is jogging with a skeptical jock, you have to wait for him/her to pass behind the moseying steed for an instant.

Paddock-cam is 80 seconds or less of a guy standing as far away from the horses as he can possibly get at the corner of the entrance from the backside while the inside horses leave the stall and then trying to catch a glimpse of something other than jocks bullshitting delusional owners while he trots to the other end of the paddock to show one or two exiting to the track via the ramp.

But thanks for the tip...  :D
