I fixed this problem a long time ago, now it is back again.
I found this cure, but Enable is already checked.
Any idea why MS fails to do this simple task?

1. Open 'Tools-->Internet Options'.
2. Choose a zone and click the "Custom level..." button.
3. Scroll down to 'Miscellaneous-->Drag and drop or copy and paste files".
4. Select "Enable".
5. OK, Apply, OK.

Tom,
Is this happening on ALL websites or one particular website?
If just one, try turning off java, and then clear your cache.

This happens to me quite a lot with Windows 7. I lose the ability to cut and paste from all programs (not only IE - word, excel as well). I've read quite a bit on this and it is a problem with the clipboard.

The one solution that I have found that continually works (other than restarting) is to simply minimize all open windows for every open program and then retry cutting and pasting. It sounds silly, but it has worked for me.

It is a bug in Windows 7 that Microsoft has yet to fix.

I'm using XP....nothing has helped this time.
I only use IE on USTA Harness site to get the chats in the .mht format.

Thanks for the suggestions.

T - Give this a whirl.

Open 'Tools-->Internet Options'.
Choose a zone and click the "Custom level..." button.
Scroll down to the Scripting section of Settings.
Under Allow paste operations via script select Enable or Prompt.
Click OK to close the Security Settings window.
Click Yes when asked if you want to change security settings for this zone.
Click OK again to close the Internet Options window.
Now try to copy and paste

I just added the IE Tab extenstion to Firefox for those times where only IE will work and haven't had to open it in years.

.

Tom, if all you are trying to do is, make a copy of that particular article, in fact any article at all, from almost any source, why not try a PDF-creation software....

EXP system's, (FREE version) of "PDF Re-Driect"....I have been using this for some time now....

The programs that I download and use from Trackmaster are of the PDF variety, and I use Foxit for marking them up and then use "PDF Re-Direct" to make a marked up copy to save for later...And, I can use any name for it, that I wish....

I also use this program to make copes of darn near anything that is in front of me....You can also call up the copy at anytime and thru Foxit can make additional marks on it...

The pro-version is only $20 bucks...I haven't used it yet, but it has much more power than the free version...Even tho the free-one stands on it's own, at that....

You can find it here...http://www.exp-systems.com/

To use it, all you have to do, is make it (PDF Re-Direct) the default printer, and then hit print, and you will be asked for a destination to save your new PDF file...Anywher you like....Simple and Deadly to use...

best,

I have Primo PDF, but I like to save all of Pandy's stuff in one document.
I'm writing his second book for him! :D

In that case Tom, you could do this....Save the article thru the print function, and re-direct it to your desktop...and then it's a simple matter to just drag and drop any PDF files into a folder that you make up on your desktop...

To Re-Direct the save article, just follow the prompts, and then tell Re-Direct where you want that print file (which is not really a print file, unless you wish it so), which would be to your desktop instead of the printer.....Then before you hit save, you can change the name of the file to anything that you would like to call it...

In fact I have PDF'd "all" of Pandy's handicapping articles using this technique....The are GOLD !

I don't use Internet explorer nor Windows, so I cannot give any suggestions on making copy/paste work.

However, is it not possible in your version of Internet Explorer to simply save the page as a text file or an HTML file?: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Save-a-webpage-as-a-file

Check memory in machine. I had the same problem and had to replace one of the two memory cards.

If your looking to make them text this might be your best option. Works with Chrome which makes it even better.
