Another bullet work this morning in 1:00 3/5 with Rosie Napravnik. She is now ready to run as soon as a MSW going short comes up on dirt. I think it will be around 3/17.

i know you are going through very anxious moments right now just waiting for the race to come up. you must have put a ton of work in her and she must have tested your patience plenty of times.

all of us here hope you do real well with your filly.

i got a 2 yo filly that just had her first work that was pretty fast. she is still very immature. but i got a good feeling abut her.

Thanks but doesn't look like to me that it will come off the grass. Weather looks pretty good.

That means Mar.31st is the next race in the condition book. Hopefully they will write an extra as she is ready now!

Had to work her again this morning. Worked 5/8ths in 1:00 flat breezing. Havre de Grace went in :59 3/5 and Joyful Victory a little quicker. Had the third fastest of day behind those two. Looks like 3/31 is the soonest race.

Actually Just Jan worked in company with Havre de Grace. Pretty good for an unraced 3 yo filly.

Just Jan still has not gotten in and looks like 3/31. Now I have another 3 yo filly ready to run named Totally Tucker. She worked this morning in :59 4/5ths and is also fast. Trainer believes Just Jan is the better of the two.

JUST JAN is going to need her running shoes on friday.

Latest news from NO is that Margolis has one in with Just Jan that is special. She is the 10 horse, That's Me. Overall the field looks extremely talented and don't think we can discount several others in here.

Also Totally Tucker cut her tongue and is not eating or drinking water today so we may scratch Friday night and wait for Keeneland. The other horse in our barn worked lights out this morning with first time blinkers. Irish Exchange.

I never worry about odds because we are running for the 60% of $46,000 which you can never bet enough or are confident enough to make by gambling. It always amazes me when everyone thinks they are pulling horses, etc. when the truth is the money is in the purses! Period. End of Quote!
Irish Exchange clipped heels back in the fall at Keeneland and fell but was not seriously injured and this will be her return start. I have no ownership in her but wish them luck and will probably scratch Totally Tucker.

In Saturday, Fairgrounds 6th Race. Ten horse field. No. 5 Just Jan.

Got Totally Tucker in Friday night in the 16th race at FG.

Gonna have to go to New Orleans now with both my girls going.TOTALLY TUCKER missed the break by about 4 lengths, circled the field and got aced for the win by the other LARRY JONES HORSE, whom i knew was real good from DELEWARE. she ran a totally huge race, and she will get you many wins, nice job today even though you didn't get the win you deserved.

this is another one that broke bad today. some of his horses were breaking bad in deleware last summer. this field was to tough to spot anyone 5 lengths at the start.

but none the less, i thought this filly was real nice, she could have just quit and she gave a complete effort against a solid field like the one you faced.. she will probably win her very next race.

LRL Racing
03-31-2012, 09:53 PM
The big gun didn't fire and looked more like a cap gun. Seriously she did not break well and just never really made any run. She did suffer some cuts to her right rear leg but none the less the effort was a major disappointment after so much hype for months. At least she is now racing so I never give up on my trainer to figure something out and find a key to turn them on. Maybe she will like the polytrack.

LRL Racing
04-01-2012, 06:30 PM
It was a tough field. Jan had never been behind another horse off the break in the morning works. She came back ok and will live to fight another fight probably at Keeneland.

Tucker came out real good and was real proud of herself. I went to NO thinking we would scratch and JLa said we are running which was a very nice surprise. Tucker is named after my very sweet and stubborn grandson. She overcame alot of issues for her debut and believe she will be quite the racehorse. Based on her disposition and love I think she is SPECIAL and will try and prove it. She continues to surprise to the upside.

Just Jan at Keeneland as is Totally Tucker. Just Jan's ankle was giving her a little trouble and Tucker will be the first to run next probably at Keeneland on 4/19 or 4/21.

i really like the way JUST JAN went in her race, she looked pretty impressive to me even though you got no result. that filly got something you can't train, heart.

LRL Racing

The issue Tucker had was that her groom was handling her and she had a tongue tie on and ended up ripping some of the meat under her tongue which caused her to miss a workout before her last race and she did not eat for a day. When she broke bad the starting gate crew told me she was tossing her head around in the starting gate as the bit was bothering her injured mouth so we really believe that is the reason for the bad break.

By the way every horse we buy at the auction has a large heart. Most of the big outfits do an MRI on them at $1200 each whereas my trainer uses a stethoscope and it usually costs me a hot dog and coke.
