What's the longest slump you've been and how did you handle it?

I just keep hitting the deposit now button.

Yeah I go through slumps - every horseplayer does - would think its a time to reflect on wagering strategies not necessarily handicapping style. Keeping records is a must. I did awful at my home track Arlington last year but did not keep records of turf versus poly races...but I bet that I had a big loss because of the poly races. This year I changed that...keeping separate records for dirt/turf/poly races per track and type of wager.

2011 I had a loss at Arlington, Fairgrounds, Belmont, and Churchill, with the biggest loss being at AP. Showed profits at Gulfstream, Tampa, Saratoga, Keeneland, and Hawthorne. So this winter I eliminated Fairgrounds as a full-time track and devoted myself to GP and OP. Can't stand to play TAM with Ness at 46% and the seemingly worse quality races there this year. Tri's I had a huge ROI so I am focusing there while cutting back on Exactas (where I had a surprising loss) and horizontal wagers.
