3-1 in divisional round

Balt + 7 1/2---clearly the better defense and clearly the better running game. This line is just too much, IMO.

San Fran - 2 1/2---still not getting respect. Weather likely will be a factor and figures to hurt the passing games. If forced to run, the Giants will have troubles against league's # 1 run D.

NYG/SF Under 42---weather isn't gonna help the passing and kicking games.

I'm an Eli fan but I'm afraid you're right valuist. The weather is predicted to be bad, and even Eli may not be able to overcome that. Plus the fact that he left practice early today with a "stomach bug" (flu ?), doesn't look good .

Looks like NY will need another one of his miracles

49ers/under

Patriots/over

But what do I know? I think I went 2-6 in the divisional round thread.

If we end up with a Giants - Patriots Super Bowl, I will have to go on a two-week ESPN fast; the eastern bias is bad enough already, they'll be binge-ing like crazy in Bristol.

Latest Sunday weather listed for SF (after 4 days of rain) is partly sunny/cloudy with a high of 61F. So, the weather leading up to Sunday may adversely affect the field conditions, but currently, the forecast for Sunday itself seems okay.

I think Baltimore will win outright so the points are a gift. I think it will be under too.

I also believe the 49ers are on a dream run and will be too much for the miracle Giants to overcome. I also like this one to be under.

The only downside to Harbaugh Bowl II is that the first game was tough to watch from an excitement standpoint 16-6. But, you get what you get.

How ironic would it be if the Baltimore Ravens were to play for the title in the home of the once BALTIMORE Colts. And with Ray Berry doing the coin toss.
Johnny U would have never done such a thing.

Ravens +7 and over 50.5

I don't think any Patriot game lately can be played taking under. In fact, 8 of their last 9 went over except when they beat KC 34-3. As for taking a side, I believed the Ravens were the best team in the AFC going into the playoffs and I don't believe the Pats workout against the Broncos changed anything in that regard.

Giants +2.5 and over 42.5

Not nearly as confident in this game. If Eli is sick and the field is muddy, SF gets lucky again. But I have to make my picks based on a level playing field. And on a level playing field the Giants have the better QB, better receivers, and a defense that in no way resembles the one the Saints put on the field. As for the over/under, when in doubt I go over.

Let me clarify- Ed Reed was concerned about his teams QB being injured while S'brding. It's kinda like Steelers fans keeping Big Ben away from college girls.

All worked out for the Ravens as they are in the AFC championship while the Stillers are home watching on their big screen TV's.

Stats of the day for the NE/Baltimore game:

New England did not win a single game against an opponent who finished the regular season with at least 9 wins (Denver got its 9th win in the wildcard round vs Pittsburgh).

Baltimore was 7-0 against teams with 9 or more wins; beating Houston, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati twice, as well as the Niners.

Before you climb on Ben lets not forget Ray Lewis being involved as a suspect in a murder.

Would i be surprise if raves win game-no,but i think Flacco HAS to win this game and i dont think hes good enough,Pats in a blowout.

BTW Ravens how did it feel being up 2 scores at halftime last year only to see Ben go deep on 3rd and long to finish the raven season.:D

No Harbaughs in the SB!

#1 Let's see now. Joe Whacko has pitched about 6 TD passes in his 8 game playoff career; while the HOFer had 6 in his LAST game and 42 in 20 Playoff Games. It's nolo contendere. Flacco faded down the stretch against the Texans badly. NE now has an improved D and if they get up just 2 TDs, the Ravens are done like dinner. Joe ain't leading them back.

NE -7.5

#2 Been watching the Giants closely the last 2 months. Eli was almost in Rodgers & Breese territory this year with almost 5,000 yards- his best ever. The team has come together with a much improved D and Eli had about 6-7 seconds each pass to throw against the Packers AT Lambeau. I don't see that questionable SF QB throwing for 300 yards again.

How many 300 yard games do you think he had during the Regular season ? How about NONE ?

Giants go back to the SB for a rematch with the Patsies.

I just figured it out !

You have a man crush on Joe the QB.

Probably the same way you felt on Nov. 20th, Flacco to Smith-28 yard TD/ 8 ticks left ! Oh the pain. !!!

Before you climb on Ben lets not forget Ray Lewis being involved as a suspect in a murder.

What's the weather going to be like in Foxboro tomorrow ?

High of 33; winds 9-10 MPH. 20% chance of precipitation. Snow seems to help the Pats. The put up over 50 on the Titans a couple years ago in the snow and crushed the Bears in Chicago last year during a blizzard.

Pats/Ravens O50.5
Remember all those points the Patriots gave up to the Dolphins and Bills to start those games late in the season? The Ravens do.

SF -2.5
End of the line for the G-men. Overcome by the toughest defense they've seen in long awhile, and a sloppy track.

SF probably the most balanced team in NFL.
Giants beat a GB team nowhere near their "A" game.
SF easy win.

Ravens lost only 1 game at home in last 18...
on road facing .500 teams or better, Ravens defense is merely ordinary.
Joe Flacco shows no sign of improving his game to playoff level.
Close for first half, Patriots decimates in second.

The Giants-GB made the Giants look better than are. The 49ers are tough at home and should win. SF -3 is no gift, but they should cover. It is not a game worth betting.
The Pats crushed a pretty good Bronco's defense. The Ravens had a hard time against a 3rd string QB last week. I like the Pats a lot here even though during the regular season the Ravens beat a lot of good teams. The Pats -7.5 is a pretty good bet, but I don't think you should go overboard on it.
The over/under on SF/NYG is little low at 43. Again nothing to get excited about. 51 for the NE/Balt is about right. I think the Pats will get their points, the question is whether Balt can get one or two long pass play TDs. Balt is not grind out very many points here. This game could end up 28-7 or it could be 42- 28.
A cautious bettor probably would take the day off. At most he would make a small wager on the Pats.
