Is this guy not a perfect cross between the Iron Sheik and Ron Jeremy?

You make the call.

First owner Shahid Khan:

Now the Iron Sheik:

And finally, good ol' Ron:

I rest my case ladies and gentlemen of the jury.

And now that I look at it, probably a little Al Sharpton in there too (old school Al)...

Funny Catch!

How about a battle royale between all three that are living? (the Iron Sheik passed several years ago, so it might be a challenge.)

I'm curious as to how you knew who Ron Jeremy was.

I had to google him to find out.

News to me. As far as I know the Iron Sheik is alive and well and resides in Fayetteville, GA In fact, he was on Monday Night Raw about a year ago. Looked in great health for his age.

Hell, when John Holmes died (you probably don't know who he is either I gather), that made it to the front page of my college student newspaper...back in the late 80s, early 90s.

Must be a generational thing...

He must be the current Iron Shiek. I remember reading the obituary for the one who played the Iron Shiek that I remember from the late 70's-early 80's, and was an Iranian Olympic wrestling champ (IRAN!). Gotta be the case. If this is a recent picture, he'd be too young to be the guy I remember.

Sorry for the confusion. I guess good wrestling characters with stage names never die.

Update-Well, I'm totally wrong - looked it up, should be the same guy. I don't know what the heck I thought I read years ago. Really sorry, but the glad the guy's alive - played a great heel.

This is the Iron Sheik, who was the WWWF Champion in the 80's, taking the title from Bob Backlund. Won it with the camel clutch when Backlund's Manager Arnold Skaaland literally threw in the towel fearing a severe back injury to Backlund. Iron Sheik was from Iran and was an Olympic Champion. He is also very much alive.
Here is his Wikipedia entry.

There was another guy in the 60's and 70's that wrestled out west as The Sheik, not the Iron Sheik. Not sure if he is still living as I followed wrestling in the east and south as a kid.

Anyone who watched porn in the 80's or 90's had to know who Ron Jeremy was. Of course he may have fast forwarded through the credits to get right to the action.

I looked up The Sheik, I remember him. I looked him up, they later in his carrer the changed his name to The Original Sheik to diffrentate him from the Iron Sheik of the 80's. The Sheik died in 2003. I wonder if they got his obituary wrong. The Wikipedia article doesn't mention The Sheik's younger life, but does say he was born in Lansing, Michigan in 1926. Doesn't say anything about Olymic Wrestling, which The Iron Sheik did.

I was nearly suspended in the 3rd grade when I laid the "camel clutch" on some fool during morning recess. His insane shrieking caught me off guard, and drew him some much needed protection from the yard lady.

I knew I'd need a different signature move.

Then I saw Hacksaw Jim Duggan, and it all came together.

What a poorly titled thread. I dint notice this beut until The Chickster shoed-up. Gonna have to work on that.

The resemblance between El Pakistano' - Shahid Khan & RJ is uncanny. The others are a stretch.

I always gravitated to the work of 'Johnny L'. John Leslie. He be dead now.

So anyway, RJ.

Here I am working for some ad agency in Mpls say around 86-87. Met a woman who worked at a travel agency at some gathering. A real firecracker. Took her to a breakfast place that I used to know the waitress and get free breakfast. (Didn't work out so well puttin' the two of them in a room together with cutlery around)

So anyway, the TAgent says to me about 2 weeks later she wants to go see a movie that she heard about some guy named Ronnie Jeremy. Knowing all there was to know about RJ, I axed how she knew about him. "Heard from a friend" she barks.

This is in the days of going to an actual theater and watching it on LeBigScreen. Long story short; we get out of the theater and I says Lets go park around the block 'cause I'm all rarrin' to go and she says she's fine. Says she already 'blasted off' a few times just sittin' in the theater watchin' the flick. I didn't think it was possible.

Damn that RJ.

So, relating to the origins of the thread, is the new name of the team the Jacksonvile Jagoffs?

What would be a good wrestling name for the team owner? I'll start with the Pummellin' Puma.

A porn name for the owner? I'll start with Dick Jacksonoff.

If we're giving the owner a porn name i vote for Max Packer

So, there used to be these guys that would hack into Ventrilo voice-chat servers and troll the rooms...recording what went on there then leave the room and come back with what they've put together...soundboard style...

How is this relevant? They would put videos of their exploits on YouTube, and one of the ones that still cracks me up featured The Iron Sheik:

(WARNING - VERY FOUL LANGUAGE AHEAD)
