It puts into perspective just how god awful big the US economy is.

Here's how the U.S compares to the four largest countries in the Eurozone in Per Capita GDP.

And, in what is perhaps the most conclusive piece of evidence that their ideology is a mental disorder, Liberals want us to be more like Europe.

Kalifornia=Italy economically? At the rate we are going downhill towards fiscal disaster, in a few years our GDP will be about the same as Chad's. We are no longer a state, we have become The People's Socialist Republic of Mexifornia. At this point it is uncertain which group will end up running things; the Mexicans or the Bolsheviks.

What are they now? As a kid, they were a quarter, when I got out of High School they went up to 0.35. Finding the extra dime was a pain in the ass. Here in TX, the tolls are so high on toll roads it should be criminal. A little under 6 bucks for me to save 15 minutes on a 12 mile stretch of road. **** that, I just leave earlier.

By the way, that turnpike in NJ ..... its one of the finest roads in the country, tolls or not. Same goes for the Ohio Tpk. Both are great highways.;)

Why put up with it when there are states in this country that would more to his political liking. Rage like what he posted gets nothing but high blood pressure.

I'm not surprised. There are more registered DEMons in this state than there are GOPers. If Rush and I were to leave the state, Swampland would transform itself into a Detroit or L.A. in short order. :D

Why don't you move?
Not as easy as it sounds at my age. Packing up and moving to a new place with no family, friends, or contacts in the area, plus severing ties to the old, not a simple commitment. Young men do such things routinely, much tougher for the elderly. From a political standpoint, Idaho or Wyoming would suit me fine. Taking a more serious look at Arizona also. There is a small city 500 miles north of me I like very much in the mythical State of Jefferson that is somewhat isolated from many of the problems, but alas, it is still California. Were it not, would have been there five years ago. There is no such thing as a perfect place anywhere in the nation, all have good and bad points. Have spent probably thousands of hours researching hundreds of locations and have visited many of them at one time or another. I am almost a walking encyclopedia on many places, with facts and figures running through my head. My problem is not too little information but too much, which causes indecision. Sarcasm and complaining aside, there is still much to like about California, and it has been my home since age six. Go I must from SoCal at some point soon, when and where not decided.

Very. But living in the bush, in this day and age, would be a huge step up! And I'm very serious. The animals in the jungle are more "civilized" than Man is -- and a lot more honest. Animal behavior can usually be read with a great deal of accuracy due to its transparency.

It really is, Grits. Nice of you to notice.

The Garden State Parkway tolls are different than they used to be. Now when you come up to a toll booth you either pay extra going one way or nothing the other way.

Here's a link to the new tolls:

when I was visiting NJ we almost got busted on those turnpikes, it never occured to me that I had to have change but if I recall one of them didn't have any people at it -- you just threw change into this big bowl thing. After a few minutes of rifling around we did just turn up enough.

To give you guys another compliment -- the people working those turnpike booths seemed to be young and friendly and kind of a joy to deal with. I'm used to the workers at the Bay Area bridges...who are usually pretty rough all the way around.
