i have to give this guy a ton of credit. he is doing everything with in his means of making customers happy to come to the meadowlands. they were up 50% on track handle for their first night.

the guy made a deal to get all the breakage instead of the state. he is taking that money and putting in the big trick pools to get people to bet.

he has good food in the place and not charging big money for it. he is treating the customer right. there will be more owners because of the way he is running the place, and they will bring friends that will find the windows.

the reason why this guy is going to be a success is because he has spent the better part of his youth in race tracks and know exactly what people want.

the guy even banked the turns to create more random results. they are closing the holes too whatever that means

congradulations to a guy on a mission

pullthepocket is reporting that the big M has raised the takeout on superfecta by 25%.
I checked the website but could not find the takeout anywhere on the site?

The 15% superfecta takeout is now 20% and done without mentioning it anywhere I saw. Not a good way to gain buzz. I was completely unaware of this.

i don't understand the big deal about takeout. if you sit home and bet horses you pay less in takeout than you did 40 years with the rebates you get. even if you are a small player there are company's that advertise here that give half decent rebates.

if you are sitting at home, you should pay less than the guys that are in a track building. it cost a lot of money to open the doors up to the fans.

the admission price has gone from $1 to $2 and includes a program. on track handle has increased 24% year to year with 6 less races. they had an over $3 million day. attendance is up 18%.

the longer this goes, the more i like JEFF GURAL. this guy seems to be giving the fans what they want, and the fans are coming out.

Yes Lambo, it seems that M1 is on better trail this season...I hope and pray that it will continue on, that a way...

Personally, I am doing better there, as well....Still, it is early season yet, but this season, I seem to be enjoying it more there, than in the most recent past seasons....

I wish I could get there from time to time....M1 was my home track, right from it's inception, until maybe 15 years or so....I miss the place, much...

best,

What affect did this year's weather have on the results? Gural couldn't ask for a better start.

Let's hope it contunues.

Let's hope it contunues.it certainly has been warm this year. but this year the handle is up with 6 less races.

i don't know this guy JEFF GURAL, never met him, never spoke to him. he deserves some credit other than having good weather.

my wife told me she had a friend that has never been to a race track and went last week, had a great meal and had a great time. i don't know what more you can ask from the guy.

last year i was at AQUEDUCT when they were building out the new casino, i had a good time there, and the food was good and the place had plenty of people in it. that was last april. i would expect them to do real well next year too.

Could it be because Pena is no longer there

I think it is.

As far as the holes being closed, it probably is playing some part for the more serious players that are able to identify things like that.
