I'm on a twelve hour fast. Four hours to go. I plan to be at the hospital at exactly 10:00 a.m., let them take my blood and then head straight for the nearest Mickey D's.

Damn I'm hungry. :bang:

I'm reminded of the old riddle, "How do you make a slow horse fast?"

Don't feed it.

Now that the holidays are over many of us will wish to shed those extra pounds we put on and keep those New Year resolutions. In yours truly's case, in addition to dieting must also stick to my self imposed hiatus from the track. Problem is, I already want to go. This means that for the rest of the month it is football, basketball, hunger and :bang: :D . See how long I go before snapping. My track buddies have made the MLK holiday monday the over/unders when I show up, no line on the weight loss. :)

I went into a disbetic coma that landed me in the hospital. The doctors had me fast for 3 days while they ran tests.

Does twelve hours even qualify as a fast?It does if the goal is get enough sugar out of your blood so they can do their tests.

IMHO, it is all about how you frame it in your mind. If you see it as "12 hours without eating," it can really be tough. O the other hand, if you eat at 6pm one day and eat at 7am the next, that is 13 hours, and many people do that all the time. All you have to do is skip the after-dinner snacks.

Junkie.

Don't mock it, I'm probably less than a decade from being a criminal based on my habits. Obamacare can't handle faquers like me.

Definately adequate . If it's just a blood fast ( no surgery) a little coffee or tea , with no milk or sugar and or some water is allowed. These won't show any difference in a routine chemistry . Only on a horse being tested for caffeine perhaps.
