Here is my old Post

But the bottom line is getting the laptop to display some programs in minmum 1024x1024, to show all screens of my program.

First i thought I needed this contraption, but it seems I do have a VGA connection on my Laptop already , so I do not need this'

My VGA connection is a 5x5x5 holes, I always thought it was for a printer connection, but when I was in Best Buy recently I was told I could just buy a new monitor and hook it up and my resolution would be what ever the new monitor was, COULD THIS BE TRUE ???

Could this work and give me all the resolution I need to see all of my program correctly, not a big screen TV , but a monitor???

It would've been nice to have it on my big screen, but as long as I can get it to work on this new monitor without having to buy a new desktop too, then technology is still cool...

Any chance of taking your laptop to BB and testing the monitor in store?
