Eight GI's Charged in Death of Fellow Soldier in Afghanistan

It was not clear from the story whether the dead soldier (who was a Chinese-American private) was killed outright, or driven to suicide through ethnic slurs and physical attacks, but either possibility is appalling. The individuals charged include one lieutenant, five NCO's, and two Specialists.

Here's a follow-up story. Apparently the death has been ruled a suicide, but the charges against the eight soldiers range from dereliction of duty to manslaughter.

These guys are getting what they deserve for lack of regard they have for
another human being . It's frightening to think that all these young men , serving our country no less, could participate in such actions .
I feel terribly for his family too , having to lose a son this way . Senseless .
