Chester Harness cancels tuesday

a horse died in the paddock today in chester. there is a rumor that it might have been strangles. that is a very contagious disease

Interesting that they rescheduled the Tues. card for Thurs. Final day of the meet was scheduled for Wed.

If the Strangles report is true, the only positive thing that can be said is that it happened at the end of the meet when presumably most of the Chester horse population has left the grounds. Very unfortunate for the owners regardless of the cause of death of their horse.

Chester, to the best of my knowlege, only has ship in barns for the days races. No horses are stabled on the grounds. Seems the Big M is heading in that direction once they tear down the barns and build their new grandstand once the funding is in place.
