View Full Version : How limiting can a modem/router be?

I just received a modem/router from at&t for my DSL line. It seems slower than my old one. Will getting a better modem/router improve my throughput? Is there such thing as a better/faster modem/router anymore?

You had DSL before, correct?

What is it that makes it seem it is slower? (I had U-verse and DSL once. I ask the last question for a purpose but I do not want to influence your answer.)

I'm getting 2.51 Mbps for downloads and .43 Mbps for uploads. I'm off to work, so I'll need to figure these numbers out later. Thanks for the site.
