the one of the Pit Bull named Honey who has a huge hole in her face from fighting; I wish it would go away. Its hurting me, seeing Honey, constantly.

The "10th Annual Ridersup Challenge" and the "View Singles" (in my area) are, both, much easier. I can ignore the ugly single guys. I'm having a harder time ignoring Honey.

Don't think I have either, Grits.

Its IMPOSSIBLE to ignore that primate, Rookies. His photo is seen far more than any of the primates in the rain forests.

Dave, what I am doing to deserve the sadly wounded "Honey" and her ad, I have no idea. It wants me to click to read her story. I can't. I can't handle it. Instead, let Michael Vick send the rescue organization a hefty chunk of his earned income for this year.

Sammy the only "public viewings" I've ever had to pay attention to (and those, only briefly) were in funeral homes.

Firefox or IE, right now, Firefox.

(Mack, hominy is too close to homely. Be careful, you'll make me cry.)

And I swear . . . . Honey is still up at the top of the page.:faint: She's killing me.

Grits,

Apparently the ad engine targets things you have read in your browser. Since I happen to know that Mr. PA gets paid when ads are clicked, I click through often.

LOL - So, once someone on this board mentioned a 1980's porn star that I recall. When her picture popped up linked to an Amazon ad for a poster, I clicked. (No, I am not a porn follower. I was just surprised that someone who would be like 60 years old would still be a sellable commodity in that market.)

LOL - Talk about getting inundated with ads! Every time I came to PA I had to look at Seka's poster or something similar.

BTW, the ad engine is not driven just by what you click on here but other things, such as searches you perform. For example, my son was over one day searching for "life insurance leads." I got hammered with that one for weeks.

So, what I am trying to figure out these days is why I keep getting messages for "Singles in Reno." LOL - I have been pounded with those ads for about a week now, with pictures of 20-something women. Today it took a different turn, showing me pictures of available men!

Welcome to the NEW world of marketing.

Dave
Who may live to regret this post.

PS: If you want to make it go away, click on a bunch of other ads to create competition for your time. Go to Amazon - search for some books. LOL - Maybe a 1980's poster.

Install this little bugger for your FF viewing pleasure and see no mo' ads. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

I do believe you're seeing a Google ad and they have secret ways of knowing you care for critters. If you cleared out your cookies you wouldn't see that ad until the next time you visited an animal friendly site.

Targeted Ads

I too have noticed that the ads change with my google searches and aren't necessarily connected to anything I click on in Pace!

I'm going to have to stop googling the monkeys! :faint:

If he wants mailers use Lead Connection.

Lead Connection (http://www.leadconnections.com/)

I'm not in any way affiliated with them. Just use them occasionally.

I'm thinking if you clear your cookies and browsing history, Grits, it might go away, or at least happen less often. Think the others are right, the ad engine knows you care about pets and animals from your browsing history. Or yes, inquire on a bunch of things and that stuff will come up instead.

I haven't seen this anti-animal crelty ad. I get too many of the view singles, and see plenty for mature women wanting older men but the pics are still of young women. Or the damned thing tells me about single men in my area - not interested - have NO idea why it gives me that - can't imagine it equates horseplaying with male friends with dating males? Aggravating.

I've seen ads pop up for odd things related to off-topic discussions, where a racing term has the same name as an item for sale or a company, and then I see ads for that company/product for a while - then they go away.

Interesting stuff when it works right.

Dave, absolutely none of this makes any sense, except when Zappos shows up, now and then.

I've never visited an animal friendly site online, except maybe the horse rescues.

I have bought books at Amazon for years, but none had to do with dog fighting. I buy shoes online at Zappos. A pair came today! Too, hotel and travel ads are not uncommon.

I have been to Match.com ONE time, total. I laughed like crazy at even the front page, which I did not go beyond. Didn't register. Left. But, their ads are in my face, here, CONSTANTLY lately, and that's probably got something to do with the Christmas season. A time when the online dating, meet and sleep folks, think all those who are unattached are needy and dying to find somebody to hook up with.:lol::lol:

I've never been to a porn site online. I'm serious--like I really want to watch? Well, what kind of fun would that be? (None of those have shown up, thank heaven.)

Google knows where I live. It ain't PA telling anybody, he'd never do such a thing. LOL A Ford dealership, nearby, keeps appearing at the top of the page, too. Thanks Google.

Keilan, Google knows you're Canadian, and are, most likely, in need of a snowblower when the stuff reaches your knees.

Mack, its all getting old.:faint::lol::faint:

don't forget that if you use a web based mail service (Yahoo, GMail,Hotmail) They scan your actual emails for "key words" then place a cookie on your system that is accessed by the associated ad companies etc.

You could have just about any word repeated a few times and then see ads related to the word, except out of context. Happens all the time.

I suspect that "humane" "bull" in other contexts could cause a hit for some ad.

Other common ones are "date" "resume" etc........
