Evangeline Downs will be hosting a $35k stake for quarter horses...on turf.

Really cool idea.Love something different as long as they do not over due it.If i remember right this is not the first time for Quarters on the turf.I think when they ran QHs at Bay Meadows back in the 80s i remember a 870 Turf race.Indiana Downs had a a one a year Harness turf race do not think they had one this year.

I lived right near Bay Meadows when they ran QH's. I love they idea of EVD running a race for them on the turf.

Closing day of a BM Q horse meeting they put one on the turf. The winning horse is lost on me but I do remember jockey Steve Treasure was up on the winner.
