Do I have these conditions right? They can enter their horse for a $100,000 tag, win the race…and still preserve the right to run in a later N1X without a tag attached?
This seems to defeat the purpose of having allowance conditions. Since Gulfstream underpays allowance races by $10K compared to other major tracks, maybe staging a race under these conditions is their way of making nice to the Owners/Trainers.
Looks like you could win this race three times - twice for the $100,000 tag and once for the NW1 condition.
ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL CLAIMING. 1 Mile Dirt. Purse $53,500.
FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NEVER WON $7,500 OTHER THAN MAIDEN, CLAIMING OR STARTER OR
WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES OR
WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO FOR $100,000.
Claiming Price $100,000 (Races Where Entered For $30,000 Or Less Not Considered)

Yes that's correct. I haven't looked at this specific race but if its an Allowance Optional Claimer with "two" conditions - like non-winner of 1 race other than maiden or claiming OR claiming price $100k. If you enter for the $100k claim price and win, you still have your n1x. I know of a few horses at Arlington that did that for an 80k/n3x and they won and kept the n3x condition.

Yeah yeah yeah...so who's gonna win?
Anyone give #5 Troilus a shot?
10-1 right now

Nice call!
Thx CJ but I didn't bet the race...just watching the early part of the GP meet for a few weeks.
I usually curtail my play this time of year and don't play much at all in the month of December.
