Indeed it is. Have seen very little mentioned of it on local television and not a lot elsewhere. Should such an attack happen today, people would think the whole world was crashing down. Perhaps the holidays interfere with it's memory. It shouldn't.

With time, this has become a day of courage, bravery, resolve, heroism, grit and determination. All the qualities we Americans pride ourselves for having.
December 7th 1941 was our greatest day.

I visited Pearl Harbour for the first time a few months ago. It's a very somber experience, but one I'm glad to have had.

Fox has been showing short clips today, and also my local station on the noon news. The History Channel is airing a new 2 hour program tonight that focuses on the immediate aftermath of the attack. 2000 Pacific Time (8:00 PM), time may be diffferent in other time zones.

My dad was serving in the Navy there at the time of the attack, and last month, I also visited the Arizona memorial. As you said, solemn and unforgettable.
